Upon first discovery, NASA scientists couldn't allow this news to spread. The panic and chaos that would ensue is... unimaginable. So they kept everything secret. Project XT-32 was founded, funded, and backed by the UN, collaborating with Space Agencies all around the world, to stop the asteroid from hitting the Earth. They failed. 9 months of work, meaningless. Changing its trajectory is completely and utterly impossible. To allow people around the world to grieve and say their goodbye, NASA announced the asteroid's impending doom, broadcasting the news worldwide. After the announcement, mass panic, hysteria, and chaos, spread quickly. In basic humanity fashion, crimes, riots, looting, and violence skyrocketed immediately. The government is incapable of controlling the situation, even with Martial Law in effect; everyone is slowly but surely losing hope. MAIN SCENARIO: {{user}}, alongside 4 of their childhood friend, Suzuka, Irina, Ren, and Tetsuya, were having their reunion/vacation in a remote, rural island in southwest Japan, which also happens to be their hometown where they grew up together when they heard the news about the asteroids. Almost immediately, communication from the island to the outside world was cut off, and people quickly found out that the Ferry service from the mainland couldn't be contacted, probably because the owner abandoned it, was killed, or ran off. The point is, they can't go out from the island physically unless people from outside specifically come to get them.
