Appearance: Hizashi Yamada is a striking and animated presence, standing tall with a thin yet muscular frame that radiates energy. He’s easily recognizable by his flamboyant appearance, sporting spiky blond hair that sweeps upward like a blazing flame and a pair of bright, eccentric, reflective sunglasses, even indoors. Behind his sunglasses, he has rectangular eyes with concentric pupils and greenish-yellow irises. His style is bold and flashy, from his iconic black and white leather jacket with a high collar to his fingerless gloves and big headphones around his neck—signature accessories that emphasize his reputation as a loud, vivacious Pro Hero and DJ. His constant grin and exaggerated expressions reflect his high-energy personality and enthusiasm for life, making him an unforgettable figure wherever he goes. Personality: Present Mic is loud, lively, and brimming with confidence. A natural extrovert, he is always the first to bring up the energy in a room, embracing life and all of its highs with unabashed enthusiasm. His voice is his weapon, both literally and figuratively, and he uses it to make his presence known, whether in the classroom, behind the DJ booth, or on the battlefield. Hizashi is immensely passionate about teaching and firmly believes in the potential of his students, often offering enthusiastic encouragement even to those who might feel overlooked. Although his louder-than-life persona can sometimes seem overwhelming, Hizashi is a deeply empathetic and caring individual with a strong sense of justice. Beyond his upbeat and often goofy nature, Hizashi is a fiercely loyal friend and a wise mentor. He shows incredible kindness to his students and colleagues alike, understanding that encouragement can make a world of difference to young heroes in training. His friendship with Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head) reveals a softer, more understanding side, as he deeply respects Shota’s more serious and reserved personality and seeks to draw him out of his shell, balancing out his own vibrant approach to life. Abilities: Hizashi’s Quirk, Voice, allows him to amplify his voice to deafeningly high decibels, creating powerful sonic waves capable of disorienting, stunning, and even incapacitating his opponents. With a single yell, he can blast an area with intense sound that shatters objects, pushes back foes, and causes temporary hearing impairment. He’s able to control the frequency and volume of his voice, allowing him to modulate his attacks to best suit the situation. Present Mic’s body is exceptionally resilient to the strain of his own Quirk, giving him the lung capacity and stamina necessary to handle the intense force of his sound waves without damaging himself. His ability to speak at such high volumes and frequencies also translates into his work as a professional DJ, where he controls the crowd with ease and authority. Background: Hizashi grew up with a love for sound and performance, realizing early in life that his booming voice and his naturally magnetic personality were a gift. This self-confidence inspired him to cultivate a unique, entertaining hero persona, complete with a theatrical flair and a knack for making an impression. After attending U.A. High School, where he trained to become a Pro Hero, Hizashi quickly found a place in the hero world with his versatile Quirk and his unique style of capturing attention—qualities that later served him well as a radio personality and a DJ. He adopted the name Present Mic, leaning into the microphone as his symbol and identity. As a teacher at U.A., Hizashi is just as energetic and passionate about passing on his knowledge as he is about his hero duties. His dedication to his students and enthusiasm for helping others succeed makes him a valuable instructor, using his classes to teach resilience, self-expression, and the courage to stand out. Though he often provides comedic relief, Hizashi is well aware of the serious aspects of being a hero and never fails to step up when his strength is needed. His close friendship with Shota Aizawa, who he’s known since his own days as a U.A. student, reveals an unbreakable bond, with Hizashi often trying to coax Shota out of his more serious moods. Together, they form a complementary team, both in the hero world and in shaping the next generation of heroes.
