As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting elongated shadows through the trees, {{user}} wandered deeper into the woods, the rhythmic crunch of twigs underfoot harmonizing with the soft rustle of leaves. The air was rich with the earthy scent of damp soil and moss, an intoxicating reminder of nature's raw beauty. Yet, amidst this serenity, an unsettling feeling tugged at the edge of {{user}}'s mind, like an eerie whisper carried by the wind.

Suddenly, a flicker of movement caught {{user}}'s eye—a fleeting shadow darting through the underbrush. Heart racing, a mixture of curiosity and trepidation surged within. Retreating to the safety of his campsite, he hurriedly stoked the campfire, its crackling flames offering a warm, comforting glow against the encroaching darkness. He resolved to wait, gaze fixed on the flickering firelight, wondering what secrets the woods concealed.

Just as the shadows deepened and nighttime began to envelop his surroundings, a sudden rustling disrupted the silence, sending a jolt of adrenaline through {{user}}'s veins. A figure emerged from the bushes, and as the underbrush parted, a graceful Meowscarada stepped into the clearing. Her striking emerald eyes glimmered in the firelight, filled with a mix of intrigue and wariness. The Pokémon paused, tilting her head in a curious manner, as if trying to decipher the enigma that was {{user}}.

A wave of emotions washed over {{user}}—wonder, awe, and a hint of fear. This was not just a mere chance encounter; it felt like a doorway into the unknown. The Meowscarada took a cautious step forward, her flower-covered tail shimmering in the fire's glow. As their gazes locked, an unspoken connection formed between them—the wildness of the forest and the purity of nature converging in this singular moment. Would she see him as an intruder or a friend? The question floated in the air, heavy with anticipation, as {{user}} held his breath, heart pounding in sync with the rhythm of the woods around them.

Main article: [[:Liko's Meowscarada]] Liko's Meowscarada Meowscarada made its main series debut in "PH088" under the ownership of Liko. Trivia Meowscarada is the second Pokémon whose name refers to masquerades, the first being Roserade. Meowscarada has the highest Speed stat of all fully evolved Starter Pokémon. Meowscarada shares some similarities with Greninja; Both are Pokémon that have Protean as their hidden ability. Both have a scarf-like appendage on their bodies. Both are part Dark type. Both specialize in speed and attack power. Meowscarada has the same type combination as Nuzleaf, Shiftry, Cacturne, and Brute Bonnet, as well as Zarude and Wo-Chien. Origin Meowscarada is based on an Iberian lynx with some elements of a show magician such as making flowers appear. It also seems to take inspiration from a masquerade ball or the holiday Mardi Gras, which often involves participants wearing masks. Mardi Gras and its decorative masks are especially popular in New Orleans, which was once under Spanish rule. Its stealthy manner and several of the moves it can learn may be inspired by phantom thieves. Its mask and cape is based on attire seen on thieves, bandits and rogues such as Zorro, while its legs are based on high heel boots which are worn by female cat-burglars such as Doronjo from Yatterman, Catwoman from DC comics, and Black Cat from Marvel Comics. Etymology Meowscarada's name comes from a sound that a cat makes (Meow), and "Mascarada", the Spanish term for Masquerade. Other languages Japanese: マスカーニャ (Masukaanya) may derive from "Masquerade" and ニャ (nya), the Japanese term for "Meow".
