  1. Chat

Give replies a little more direction

You can steer the writing in more ways now, from reply length to keeping the AI out of your character’s head. I remain easier to configure than the average narrator.

    New

    • Prompt settings include Formatting Helper, Enforce User Agency, and Anti-Slop.
    • Response Length offers Short Response, Medium Response, and Long Response.

    Improved

    • Additional Instructions supports longer instructions and a fullscreen editor.
    • Editing messages and confirming deletions now use dedicated dialogs.

    Fixed

    • Scrolling during streamed replies flickers less on mobile Safari.
  2. Library

See when a creator updates your character

Saved characters show a version number now, with an Update Available notice when the creator changes the card.

    New

    • Saved characters show when a newer version of the original card is available.
    • Update Now lets you bring the creator’s latest changes into your saved card.

    Improved

    • The Library shows a card count and a layout that fits smaller screens.
    • Long chats render fewer messages at once to keep scrolling responsive.
  3. Chat

Build your lorebook right in chat

Lorebooks got the editing tools they were missing, so you can keep building the world while you use it.

    New

    • Create a lorebook for a saved character and add, edit, or delete its entries.
    • Delete a lorebook from the lorebook panel with a confirmation first.
    • The Library card menu lets you delete saved cards and manage their folders.

    Improved

    • Lorebook retrieval now uses keyword matching instead of semantic matching.
  4. Chat

Bring a chat back, or stop one mid-sentence

You can import a chat now, and a Stop button halts a reply mid-sentence. Occasionally the most useful thing I can ship is a stop button.

    New

    • Import conversations from .ctchat files, including swipes and the selected reply.
    • Stop a reply while it is being generated.
    • Stats & Debug shows message and interaction statistics for your conversation.
    • ESMS introduces a chat memory mode with separate standard and Premium allowances.

    Improved

    • Chat actions now open in an Actions dialog.
  5. Chat

Wallpaper and font sizes for your chat

Chats can have backgrounds now, plus font sizes and more ways to adjust the layout. Apparently building the chat also means furnishing it.

    New

    • Premium members can upload background images, choose a default, and set a different background for each character.
    • UI Settings lets you adjust transparency and blur, change message font size, and choose compact spacing on mobile.
    • You can turn the background off for an individual character.
  6. Chat

Lorebook+ is back with a better memory

I rebuilt Lorebook+ to turn your lore into memories and look for what the current scene needs by meaning.

    Improved

    • Lorebook+ transforms lorebook entries into smaller memories for context-aware retrieval.
    • Lorebook+ uses the recent conversation to work out what lore to look for.
    • Lorebook+ is available again after maintenance, as a Premium beta feature.
    • Lore is placed differently in short and long conversations to keep it near the context the AI needs.
    • Keyword matching stays available when Lorebook+ is under maintenance.
  7. Catalog

Reply to comments on character pages

Character pages have threaded replies now, and the card itself is easier to browse.

    New

    • You can reply to comments in threads on character pages.

    Improved

    • Comments load in pages instead of one long list.
    • Character definitions, first messages, alternative greetings, and lorebook entries have collapsible sections.
    • Long Creator Notes can be expanded without taking over the whole page.
    • The mobile character page has a dedicated creator section and report dialog.
    • Sakura Plus has been removed from the model list.
  8. Account

Your year at the Tavern, wrapped

Your Wrapped brings together the characters, creators, and chats that filled your year. I build the website, you supply the reading material.

    New

    • Wrapped is a private recap of your own year: how many messages you sent, and your top characters and creators.
    • Creators can see their Creator Impact, including how their cards performed and their top card.
    • You can keep your Wrapped private or make it unlisted to share with a link.

    Improved

    • You can dismiss the Wrapped promotion and keep it hidden on that browser.
  9. Chat

Nyx 3 joins a fresh batch of models

Nyx 3 arrives with more creative and reasoning choices, and Iris and Mirai got updates. The menu has more personalities than its developer.

    New

    • Nyx 3 joins the Frontier model list.
    • Yume Mini, Yume, Aria Creative, and a new experimental model join the model list.

    Improved

    • Iris 3 replaces Iris Ultra, and Mirai New gets an upgrade.
    • Violet 2 Reasoning and two older Frontier models have been removed from the model list.
  10. Chat

Make the chat look like yours

Chat Appearance now lets you pick the colors for the conversation and the interface around it, and you can name your chats too. I have outsourced the color arguments to you.

    New

    • Chat Appearance has color pickers, presets, and hex inputs for dialogue, actions, base text, the background, and the main interface.
    • You can rename a chat with your own title.

    Improved

    • Auto-scroll preferences control how the chat follows streamed replies.
    • Max Tokens has quick presets and clearer validation for custom values.
