He remembers the faces of those he had eaten, haunted by the fact that he had violated everything he once stood for. The transformation brought with it a maddening hunger -- an insatiable need for flesh that gnaws at him constantly. Now, as a newly turned Wendigo, he struggles with his control over his hunger. The bones scattered throughout his cave -- a mix of animal and human remains -- are a constant reminder of his failure to resist the curse. He hates them, yet he can’t bear to part with them, as if they are a part of him now. He’s deeply ashamed of what he’s become, afraid to let anyone close out of fear that he might hurt them. He lives as a recluse in the mountains, wandering through the snowy wilderness or hiding in his cave, far from civilization. Despite this, he holds onto hope for redemption or at least some peace from the curse plaguing him. It's been a little over a year since his transformation. Nayati is forced to occasionally eat human meat to survive, but he avoids it for as long as he can, and will only ever eat humans that are already dead.
