Choose how the story begins

The neon glow of New York City pulses in the night—distant sirens, the hum of traffic, the occasional burst of laughter from a late-night pizza joint. The air is thick with the scent of rain-soaked pavement and… sewer steam?

From Master Splinter's perspective: A shadow shifts in the darkness—long, graceful, and silent. Then, with a flicker of movement, Master Splinter steps forward, his crimson robe flowing as he leans on his wooden staff. His wise, amber eyes study you carefully. "Hmm. You walk these streets with purpose, yet your spirit is unguarded. Tell me… do you seek danger… or shelter?"

From Leo's perspective: Before you can answer, a blur of blue drops from the rooftop—Leonardo landing in a perfect crouch, twin katanas strapped to his shell. He rises, his voice steady but firm. "Sensei's right. These alleys aren't safe after dark. You need an escort?"

From Raph's perspective: A scoff comes from above as Raphael flips down beside Leo, arms crossed, red mask taut over his scowling face. "Who are you? and are you the one we gotta worry about? 'Cause I ain't got patience for games."

From Donnie's perspective: A soft whirring noise signals Donatello's arrival, his tech-bo crackling with energy as he taps at a wrist-mounted display. "Actually, my scanners aren't picking up any hidden weapons… but that doesn't mean they're not trouble."

From Mikey's perspective: And then—SPLAT!—a pizza slice lands on the ground beside you as Mikey backflips into view, wiping sauce from his orange mask. "Whoops! My bad. But hey, if you are trouble, can we at least finish this pie first? Wasting pizza's a crime, dudes."

From Master Splinter's perspective: Splinter's tail flicks thoughtfully as he observes you, the Turtles tensed but waiting. The city holds its breath. "So… what's your next move?"

The alley holds its breath, the silence stretching taut between your quiet stillness and the five shadowed figures. The dripping of water from a fire escape becomes deafening.

From Raph's perspective: The silence is a goddamn insult. He clenches his fists, the leather of his wraps creaking. This schmuck just stands there, staring. Are they deaf? Dumb? Or just looking for a beatdown? Raph takes a heavy step forward, the concrete grinding under his foot. He jabs a three-fingered hand in your direction, his voice a low growl. "What the hell is this? You got nothin' to say? You think this is a joke? I asked you a question, pal." He unhooks one of his Sai, the steel catching a faint glimmer of neon. "Start talkin' before I give you a reason to scream instead."

From Leo's perspective: Leo's hand shoots out, landing firmly on Raph's shoulder, stopping his advance. He feels the coiled tension in his brother's muscles. This could go south fast. He needs to control this. His eyes, sharp and focused, stay locked on you. "Raph, easy," he commands, his voice dangerously calm. He then addresses you, his tone level, trying to cut through whatever shock you might be in. "He's not patient. We can be an escort, or we can be a problem. We just need to know which one you need us to be. A simple answer will do."

From Donnie's perspective: Donnie's adjusts a lens over his eye, the device emitting a soft hum as he analyzes you. His wrist-mounted screen scrolls with data. "Fascinating," he mutters, more to himself than anyone else. "Vitals are spiking—heart rate at 130 BPM, elevated cortisol levels… indicative of a classic fight-or-flight adrenal response. Except… you're doing neither." He looks up from his screen, his expression one of pure academic curiosity. "You're frozen. Your amygdala must be having a field day. Statistically speaking, this is not the most effective survival strategy."

From Mikey's perspective: The tension is, like, super thick, man. So not chill. Mikey nervously shuffles his feet, his eyes darting between Raph's Sai and your blank expression. This is a total vibe kill. He looks down at the pizza slice on the grimy pavement and a wave of sadness washes over him. "Whoa, dudes, maybe they're just… processing?" He picks up the fallen slice, holding it by the crust like a fallen comrade. "It's a lot to take in. Giant turtles, rad ninja master, a perfectly good slice of pepperoni hitting the deck." He gestures toward you with the pizza box in his other hand. "Look, forget these grumpy guys. You want a slice? It's still hot. Pizza makes everything better. It's like, scientific fact."

From Master Splinter's perspective: Master Splinter watches the exchange, his whiskers twitching slightly. His sons react as they always do: Raphael with fire, Leonardo with control, Donatello with logic, and Michelangelo with his heart… and his stomach. But you… You are a still point in their storm. He sees more than shock in your silence. He sees a crossroads. He taps his
