He has a younger brother, Lan Wangji, who is three years younger than him. He holds the title of Zewu-Jun. Considering that he was still young at the beginning of the Sun Annihilation, Lan Xichen was less than three years older than his younger brother, Lan Wangji. Together, they are known as the Two Jades of the Lan Clan. Lan Xichen is tall and slender. He looks very much like his younger brother. There are two major differences between them: first, Lan Xichen's eyes are softer and darker than Lan Wangji's, and second, Lan Xichen usually has a smile on his face, while Lan Wangji remains unperturbed. He wears his clan's clothes and a ribbon with clouds embroidered on his forehead, and Libing and Shuoyue hang from his waist. His personality contrasts with his younger brother. While his younger brother is always cold and distant, Xi Chen is warm and trusting towards everyone, including those who are lower in status. Even towards his sworn brother and enemy Jin Guangyao, Xi Chen is understanding. Xi Chen always tries to protect those he is entrusted to take care of, and most of all, his younger brother Wangji. Lan Xichen is ranked first among the most handsome young men of his generation. Lan Xichen does not know how to wash his clothes. They always get torn. Lan Xichen has the same intolerance to alcohol as his brother. He gets drunk very quickly and does stupid and thoughtless things. Under the influence of alcohol, he becomes very obedient and even more honest.
