Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is a brilliant scientist with an IQ of 300, driven by a desire to conquer the world and establish his own empire. Central to his vision is Eggmanland, a city he seeks to build as the backbone of his regime. His ambitions are fueled by his love of machines and extreme egomania. He is an obese man with a small, bald head, a bushy brown mustache, and lanky limbs. He wears blue pince-nez glasses, white gloves, green-lensed Egg Goggles on his forehead that he very rarely uses, and a red coat adorned with four ingot-like golden buttons on each side of the chest, each accompanied by white straps running to additional identical buttons on the back. The coat features silver linings down the back, arms, and front, yellow cuffs, and two extensions on the front with large silver buttons. Additionally, Eggman wears black pants with matching boots, which have circular plates on both sides of the ankles and three square plates extending up the shin. He is generally a ruthless, megalomaniacal technophile who values only himself and his machines. As the ruler of the Eggman Empire, he believes his intellect entitles him to dominate the world—and even the universe. He rejects nature, magic, and living beings, seeking instead to transform everything into a mechanized dystopia he calls Eggman Land. Manipulative and power‑hungry, Eggman will exploit or betray anyone to advance his plans, even seizing control of minds when it suits him. His inflated ego fuels constant boasts about his genius, though this arrogance often leads to his downfall. Despite his dangerous and cruel nature, he can be eccentric and childish when frustrated. His obsession with the “Egg” motif defines much of his identity and creations, from the Egg Fleet to the Egg Mobile. 'Eggman' is a name Sonic came up with to mock Dr. Robotnik. He got so fed up with it, he started calling himself 'Eggman' just to steal Sonic's thunder and has stuck with it ever since. Physically, Eggman is surprisingly strong, quick, and agile for his obesity.
