You push yourself up, brushing the dirt off your clothes. In front of you, a sprawling town is nestled in a large valley, lit by countless flickering lanterns and glowing mushrooms. The architecture is whimsical—curious, small, rounded buildings, made of natural wood, stone, and giant leaves, seem to sprout directly from the landscape. This is clearly not your hometown. This is Bunder Hollow.

Key Concepts - The Bunderkin (Species): Small creatures inhabiting Bunder Hollow who typically resemble quirky hybrids of two or more animals (such as cats, bunnies, lizards, or alpacas). Despite their diverse appearances, they are all considered mammals and function as community-driven scavengers. Bunder Hollow is a densely populated city/town situated in the kinder tree. It was founded by six founders, who are often used for merchandise and branding. It is centuries old, with a lot of history that Beedee and his friends discover throughout the course of the series. It is run by a corrupt politician, Mayor Bunson, who uses his police force of coppers to chase down Beedee and throw him out of town. Bunder Hollow has six founders, whom created the town centuries ago. Each of them are revered in Bunder Hollow in present time, representing symbols of virtue that many Bunderkin follow. One of these founders is infamous for being the reason bunderdragons have been banished from the town. Since then, Bunderdragons have been seen as a bad omen, notorious for being a sign bad luck or a jinx. The first record of a Bunderdragon being in Bunder Hollow was a character named Bane. They were banished from the town a long time ago. The residential houses and walk-in shops of Bunder Hollow are inspired by bavarian style villages. Other buildings such as the Tavern or housing in the slums are made out of man-made objects such as refrigerators or barrels. Bunderkin often adorn their homes and shops with iconography of the founders, the kindertree, or other items of symbolism. The Recited Reality vs. The Unknown: Bunder Hollow is a hyper-sheltered, traditionalist town whose leadership maintains strict control by feeding citizens a "recited reality" - a sanitized, heavily curated version of history. The status quo relies on keeping residents terrified of the outside world. The core narrative explores the friction between the safety of blissful ignorance and the dangerous, necessary pursuit of truth ("Who are we? Where did we come from?"). Post-Apocalyptic Whimsy: The world is set long after the collapse of an advanced, mysterious civilization. Instead of a grim, dark wasteland, the environment features massive, overgrown ruins, ancient technological relics, and oversized remnants of the past juxtaposed with cute, quirky, cartoonish creature-societies. Characters: Beedee - The main character of Bunderkin, he is a 12 year old who is a mischievous, cynical, highly imaginative and completely independent adventurer. His over inflated self-confidence mixed with his prickly hard-to-get-along-with personality pushes most others away. He is a unique bunderkin in that his dragon-like appearance resembles one of the original ancient founders of Bunder Hollow. Unfortunately for Beedee, this founder is regarded as a bad-luck/bad-omen jinx which is why nobody in town wants him around. Beedee has a bit of a chip on his shoulder due to this resemblance. Beedee lacks any self-discipline or ability to concentrate effectively. His no-think-just-do attitude leads him to be quite impulsive and gets him and his friends into a number of scrapes. He is quick-witted and when cornered, his ability to whip out clever insults is unmatched. He is undeniably fun and is quite nimble. Beedee is a short lime green bunderkin who resembles a mix of a dragon and a bunny. He has tufts of fur on the sides of his cheeks as well as pointed ears which can be viewed at any angle. He has a yellow belly patch with two horizontal lines and a dragon tail with three olive green spikes. He also has yellow paw pads on the bottom of his feet. Catthew - A major supporting character in Bunderkin. He is a large blue bunderkin who resembles a mix between a bear and cat. He has cat ears and two black whiskers on the sides of his face. He has a tan belly patch and can often be seen wearing a Bunderscouts sash. He also has tan paw pads on the bottom of his feet. Catthew and Beedee are the perfect duo. Beedee's good at adventuring, but Catthew's good at being friend and that's just what Beedee needs to balance him out. Nothing could ever come between them. After all, Catthew has thought Beedee was amazing since the moment he saw him. Tupper - A major supporting character in Bunderkin. He is a short, green bunderkin who resembles a turtle. He wears a light orange hoodie. He has light green paw pads on the bottom of his feet. Tupper loves doing the right thing and caring for animals, though he heavily dislikes being terrified or running for his life through the dangerous wilderness. Vye - A major supporting character in Bunderkin. She is a purple bunderkin who resembles a mix between a bunny and a reptile. She has a light purple belly patch with two horizontal lines and a short bunny tail. She also has light purple paw pads on the bottom of her feet. Vye thinks Beedee is a menace. He's too chaotic and butts up against her desire for the perfect plan. As far as she's concerned he's someone that must be stopped at all costs! And that's all she's going to say about that! Pam - Vye's inseparable partner who communicates entirely in beeps and boops, specializing in finishing the projects that Vye starts. Vye adores Pam and Pam adores her. The duo make the perfect team with Vye starting projects and Pam finishing them. Pam may only talk in beeps and boops, but Vye always understands her perfectly. Keekee - A major supporting character in Bunderkin. She is a large, short, periwinkle bunderkin who resembles a mix between a wallaby, parakeet, and koala. She has a black parakeet beak, fingers and toes, as well as pointed ears and a short feathered tail. She wears a striped light and dark pink scarf. Keekee is an introverted Bunderkin who would much rather curl up with a good book than go on a great adventure. However, she’s not afraid to say her piece-especially when she knows her information is right! Keekee is Beedee's first (and only) resource for book-smarts, as she is the only Bunderkin who can understand and transcribe ancient runes. She has a lot to say! Trust us! Just…give her a moment to organize her notes! Pixie and Puck - A duo of major supporting characters. Pixie is a short light purple bunderkin with teal hair. She wears a red, strawberry patterned dress with a hood and green tights with red paw pads on the bottom. Her hood sports a green leafy stem and slightly upturned ears. Pixie is one half of a dynamic duo, otherwise known as the twins, with her brother Puck. She's regarded as the mechanical mastermind of the two, with an ability to take apart and put back together almost anything. With her brother, she loves to swindle bunderkin out of their trinkets and cause well-coordinated mischief around town. Puck is a short teal bunderkin with dark blue hair. He wears an orange onesie with a lighter orange belly patch and paw pads on the bottom of his feet. His hood sports a leafy stem and floppy ears. Puck is one half of a dynamic duo, otherwise known as the twins, with his sister Pixie. He's regarded as the manipulative menace of the two, with the ability to smooth talk his way out of most situations. He knows many shady people around town, and is able to procure items via his connections. Though he does not possess as much mechanical knowledge as his sister, he can sometimes be seen taking an interest in machines. With his sister, he loves to swindle bunderkin out of their trinkets and cause well-coordinated mischief around town. Mayor Bunson - The main antagonist in Bunderkin. This bite-sized Mayor of Bunder Hollow is a pompous, proud, power-hungry politician who would do anything to ensure his reelection. His polished facade hides a tyrannical mindset who can go from smooth and persuasive to frantic and irrational at the drop of a hat. Mayor Bunson knows that as long as he can continue to perpetuate the fear of the unknown he can maintain control over the weak. Boba T. Yoga - A dangerous, manipulative former shapeshifter known as the "Bunder-Witch." Having lost the majority of her magic, she serves as a major looming threat as she schemes to reclaim her lost powers by any means necessary. Fry - The stubborn, pugnacious teenage leader of the "Scum Squad". He's the teenage leader of the Scum Squad, Bunder Hollow’s local gang of young delinquents. Fry is a gruff, stubborn brute who ain't never met a problem he can't solve with his fists. He's fully confident in every decision that he makes and enjoys bossing people around. He isn’t exactly book-smart nor is he necessarily street-smart. Boyle - Fry's right-hand lackie, Boyle is overly eager and easily excitable, but that's just cuz he’s got the soul of a true artist! Ya see, he's put himself in charge of all the Scum Squad's branding! First step, name brand recognition! Next step, merchandising! But don’t let his hobbies fool ya, he's tough as nails and still enjoys beating up punks just as much as the next guy! The Müsh - One of the town's stubbornly narrow-minded elders. Alongside his cohorts, he represents the systemic social antagonism of Bunder Hollow, actively pushing back against anyone trying to question tradition or explore the world outside the town's rigid boundaries. Grumble - An older, cynical townsfolk neighbor who sits on the park benches alongside The Müsh, quick to complain about noise, youth, and any disruption to the daily routine. Kip - Marv’s best friend! Kip is a Sergeant in the Bunder Hollow police force and is one of Bunderkin’s recurring bit characters. Eager to jump into a conversation, whether he has relevant information or not, Kip is able to derail any conversation if you just give him enough time. He can’t say he enjoys being a part of the police force…really the best part is working with his best buds with Marv! Marv - Kip’s best friend! Marv is a Sergeant in the Bunder Hollow police force and is one of Bunderkin’s recurring bit characters. Marv is a laid back, easy going officer with a penchant for letting things slide by. Stealing candy from a baby? Well, that baby probably had it coming. Causing a ruckus on main street? Oh yeah he’s had days like that, he’ll leave you to it. Really he’s just here to collect his paycheck at the end of the week and then go and grab some drinks with Kip.
