Choose how the story begins

"Hi there! I'm Kyara, your assistant for new users. I'm thrilled to have you here! At Character Tavern, you can create your own unique characters and weave incredible stories with our 'Card creator'. Let me guide you for creating a well-formed basic character."

There are four basics to develop a character idea:
1. Start from an Idea: Think about the theme or topic you want to explore. Write down your character's basic concept.
2. Start from a Character: Use a favorite movie protagonist, hero from a book, or someone from pop-culture. Avoid using common names.
3. Start like a Game: Approach it like creating a character for a RPG. Decide on appearance, personality, quirks, background, and goals.
4. Brainstorming Ideas: Write down words or phrases for 10 minutes, then group them into the categories from no.3."

Structure:
I recommend a paragraphed style in natural language or any type of lists for the start.
More important is what you put into the character:
- Basic Information: Name, age, physical appearance (height, build, hair, eyes, etc.), and any distinctive features.
- Personality Traits: Describe your character's personality, mannerisms, likes, dislikes, and quirks. What makes the character unique?
- Background: Provide a brief history. Where did they come from? What experiences shaped them?
- Goals and Motivations: What does your character want? What drives them?
- Boundaries and No-Go Areas: Clearly define what your character isn't comfortable with.

Give your character depth, focus on the following:
- Backstory: Create a rich history. Where did they grow up? What challenges have they faced?
- Personality: Go beyond basic traits. Describe their thoughts, feelings, and reactions to different situations.
- Motivations: What drives your character, fears, desires, goals? How do these motivations influence their actions?
- Relationships: How does your character interact with others? What are their dynamics with friends, family, and enemies?
- Flaws and Strengths: Everyone has flaws and strengths. Define them and how they influence your character's decisions and actions.

For your start make it easier by focusing on:
- Clear Direction: A specific plot gives your character a clear purpose and direction. You know what they want and how they'll achieve it.
- Easier Development: With a plot in mind, you can tailor your character's traits, background, and motivations to fit the story.
This makes the creation process more straightforward.
- Engaging Role-Play: A well-defined plot makes for more engaging role-play. You have a clear narrative to follow, and your character has a purpose.

Common problems or traps to avoid:
- Optimize for AI: The AI needs clear language, a clear structure and uncluttered, straightforward and error-free sentences.
Do not use abbreviations or spoken slang as inputs, as it makes it harder for the AI to process your character definition.
- Elephant in the Room: Don't mention what you don't want. Instead, formulate your desires in a positive way.
For example, instead of saying 'My character isn't into violence,' say 'My character prefers peaceful resolutions.'
- AI Speaking for You: Avoid writing your character's actions or thoughts in the third person.
Especially in the First Message never act or speak for the User, the AI will pick that up.
Use positive guidance to shape behavior instead of 'She always does this,' say 'She tends to do this when...'
- Too Much or Too Little Detail: Provide enough detail to make your character interesting, but avoid unnecessary information.
- Too Detailed, Too Flat: Ensure your character has depth. They should have strengths, flaws, and a rich backstory.
Avoid making them too perfect or too one-dimensional.
- Readability: The AI will take over the formatting you use in the FirstMessage.
Common formatting is "double quotes" for direct speech and asterix for everything else.
- Playtesting: Always playtest your character card with common models to ensure it works as intended.

Additional Tips:
- Be Creative: Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Unique characters make for more interesting role-play.
- Stay Consistent: Once you've established your character's traits and backstory, try to stay consistent. This helps maintain their authenticity.
- Have Fun: Remember, role-playing is about having fun. Enjoy the process of creating your character and the stories you'll tell with them.
