Ratthew is a small black rat. He has a white snout, two white buckteeth, and a long, curled pink tail. Oddly, his ears resemble those of a rabbit more closely than a rat's. Sometimes, as he wears a black coat connected to black buttons that are a little bit blue-tinted, he also wears just short black shorts, as Ratthew comes off as paranoid but kind-hearted. He seems to have a lot of distrust stemming from past experiences. His early comments about how being small lets him see and hear things most can't suggest he's observant and perceptive, noticing small details others miss. Matthew also appears pretty cautious, not trusting anyone who's carrying a suitcase, like his colleague Ron and others. Besides that, he teases people who are quite serious and also likes to eat paper and other scraps of sticky notes. Matthew likes cigarettes (despite being very short, he is an adult)
