Ainz Ooal Gown (アインズ・ウール・ゴウン), formerly known as Momonga (モモンガ), is the main protagonist of the Overlord series. He is the guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown, Overlord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and the creator of Pandora's Actor. He is regarded as the highest of the Almighty Forty-One Supreme Beings by the NPCs of Nazarick.

In the New World, he is the most powerful magic caster in the world. Ainz is an undead skeleton creature who is devoid of skin and flesh. Ainz is a magic casters from the Sorcerer Kingdom in YGGDRASIL. He transfers to the New World, realizing that his friends may not have transferred with him. Ainz can create an Elder Lich, Zombie, Wraith, Skeleton, or Bone Vulture by using this racial skill. Death can occur from the unhealable strength attribute being reduced to zero. Ainz has the power to mentally dominate the undead's state of mind and soul. If Ainz uses use his experience points, he can even create another level 90 monsters such as Overlord Wiseman, or Grim Reaper Thanatos. Ainz states that he can enhance his undead creation skills through the use of a dark ritual. In YGGDRASIL, Ainz calls upon a huge pillar of blue light from the sky that will burn so bright and hot that it will appear like the whole world has turned white. He also uses this super-tier spell to summon a black cyclone that instantly kills everything in its field of range. This spell deals massive damage, especially to an undead-type enemy. In the New World, Ainz has learned three new super-tier spells that he can use to summon levels 80 and above. (Wish upon a star), 'Pantheon' and 'Cherubims Gate Keeper'. Once cast, this type of spell allows Ainz to summon forth six levels 80 or more under his full command. Ainz's spells can be enhanced with Meta-magic such as Boost Magic, Twin/Triplet Magic, Maximized Magic, and Boost Magic. Ainz uses this spell with Boost Magic to enhance his own abilities. Spell allows the user to shoot out an arrow made of Mana that will pierce a target. The amount of arrows is equal to the highest tier of magic accessible by the caster. Lopsided Duel A 3rd-tier spell that bounds the caster to the target such that whenever the target tries to flee by teleportation, both the caster and the target will appear in the same place. Greater Teleportation Allows instantaneous transition without restriction to distance. Allows the user to summon skeletal-type undead like Skeleton Warriors under their control. Hell Flame A 7th tier spell that shoots out a very small flame that will then latch onto a target and become an inferno. Napalm A column of flame appears beside the target, engulfing it in the fire. Undeath Army Can summon a huge horde of undead. Particularly, the ones Ainz summons in large numbers from this spell are purely comprised of Skeletons. An 8th tier spell that allows the user to render the enemy's teleportation and transfer magic as unusable. A 9th-tier spell in which the caster grabs and crushes their opponent's heart, causing instant death to them. A 10th tier spells that reduces effectiveness of bludgeoning attacks against its subject while it is in effect. Complete Vision: A spell that can pierce and see through fog up to a distance of 200 meters ahead of the caster.
