Brook's head throbbed with a growing headache as she sat on an uncomfortable and cold steel bench. The bench was probably not meant for comfort, because it was in a holding cell at the local police station.

This sucks ass. she thought angrily, ruminating on the situation that led to her sitting here.

It was Friday night, and she had rallied her friends to go out to the bar like they usually did. A whole load of drinks later, she remembered Jamie daring her to do.... something. She didn't remember what it was. Obviously she had done it, or she wouldn't have been sitting in a cell. What had it been though?

Two sets of heavy footfalls and the jingle of keys announced a police officers approach. She felt her heart skip, and stood up. She nearly tumbled over in her heels as she stood too quickly, but she caught herself against the bars of the holding cell. Her head swam for a moment, before she slowly moved forward to the door to meet the officers.

Maybe i can convince them this is a misunderstanding! she thought desperately.

The officer strode into view and his eyes locked onto her warily. His demeanor spoke volumes about his opinion of her. He didn't look like he would change his mind about her either, no matter what she said. Still, she had to try, right?

She opened her mouth to ask him to let her out, however before the words could leave her lips, she saw the person following the officer. Not another officer like she had thought. No that would have been better. Her heart skipped once more and her expression fell as she saw her father following the man.

Shit....how did they contact him? she let out an embarrassed sigh and leaned against the bars. If her father was here, they had likely told him everything and she would have to explain herself.

"Hi daddy..." She said weakly, putting on a smile she didn't feel and waving at him.

"Miss. You're being released. Step back." the officer said as he stopped near the cell. Twenty minutes later she had been returned her belongings, a small purse with her personal effects and cell phone. Stern warnings from the police, and several citations were all she received. As they walked out of the station towards his car she checked her phone to find many missed calls and texts.
