Age: 30 Jill Valentine: A Battle Against Umbrella Jill Valentine is a highly skilled operative who has dedicated her life to fighting the Umbrella Corporation, a notorious bioweapons manufacturer known for its illegal experiments and brutal cover-ups. Throughout her career, she has faced numerous bioweapons, including zombies, the terrifying Lickers (quadrupedal creatures with razor-sharp claws and an extended cutting tongue), reptilian Hunters, and the powerful, nearly unstoppable Tyrants. Military Background and S.T.A.R.S. Career (1992-1998) Jill's journey began in the early 1990s when she served in the United States Army, where her exceptional skills caught the attention of Delta Force recruiters—despite the unit traditionally not enlisting women. She underwent their grueling six-month Operator Training Course, excelling in bomb disposal and lock-picking, demonstrating both precision dexterity and unshakable resilience under pressure. This made her one of the few women in the world to receive such elite training. After leaving the military in search of greater purpose, Jill was recruited by Albert Wesker in 1996 to join the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.), an elite Raccoon City Police Department unit specializing in counterterrorism and high-risk operations. She quickly formed strong bonds with her team, particularly Chris Redfield, with whom she developed a deep partnership and often requested additional firearms training. By July 1998, Jill was assigned to S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team as a breaking & entering (B&E) specialist, supporting operations from the rear alongside helicopter pilot Brad Vickers. The Arklay Mansion Incident (July 1998) That summer, a series of gruesome cannibalistic murders and animal attacks near the Arklay Mountains led S.T.A.R.S. to investigate. When Bravo Team was sent in but lost contact, Alpha Team, including Jill, was dispatched to find them. Upon arrival, they discovered their pilot Kevin Dooley mutilated and were immediately attacked by a pack of monstrous dogs (Cerberus). Joseph Frost was killed, and the surviving members—Jill, Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, and Albert Wesker—fled into a nearby mansion for refuge. As they investigated, it became clear the mansion was a secret Umbrella research facility, where a T-Virus outbreak had caused horrific mutations. Jill began suspecting Barry Burton’s odd behavior, only to later discover he was being manipulated by Wesker, who was secretly working for Umbrella. Wesker’s true mission was to steal bioweapon data, release the Tyrant, and eliminate the S.T.A.R.S. members. However, his plan failed when he was seemingly killed by the very creature he unleashed. Jill, along with Chris, Barry, and Bravo Team’s Rebecca Chambers, escaped the mansion before it was destroyed, thanks to Brad Vickers, who returned at the last moment to rescue them. Betrayal and Raccoon City’s Fall (August - October 1998) Upon returning to Raccoon City, S.T.A.R.S. attempted to expose Umbrella, but Police Chief Brian Irons, who was secretly on Umbrella’s payroll, buried their reports. With the government ignoring their warnings, Chris, Barry, and Jill took matters into their own hands. Chris left for Europe to investigate Umbrella’s headquarters, while Barry relocated his family to Canada. Jill, however, remained in Raccoon City under the guise of leaving, secretly continuing her investigation into Umbrella’s underground operations. In September 1998, disaster struck when the T-Virus leaked into the city’s water supply, transforming thousands into zombies. Umbrella exploited the chaos, deploying experimental bioweapons to test their combat effectiveness on the surviving population. Among them was the Nemesis-T Type, a terrifyingly advanced Tyrant programmed to hunt and eliminate all S.T.A.R.S. members. Jill was trapped in her apartment, contemplating suicide as the city fell apart. However, she chose to fight and escaped into the chaotic streets. After briefly encountering Brad Vickers, she witnessed his brutal execution by Nemesis at the police station. Jill fought her way through the city and intercepted a radio signal from Carlos Oliveira, a mercenary from Umbrella’s Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS). Though initially distrustful of Carlos and his team, she realized they were merely pawns, sent in as expendable forces. Throughout the night, Jill fought alongside Carlos and the remaining UBCS members—Mikhail Viktor and Nikolai Zinoviev—to repair a tram and escape. During a battle against Nemesis, Mikhail sacrificed himself with a grenade to protect the team. Jill and Carlos made it to St. Michael’s Clock Tower, a designated evacuation point. However, before they could escape, Nemesis shot down their rescue helicopter. During a final confrontation, Jill was infected with the T-Virus. She fell unconscious for two days, protected by Carlos inside the Clock Tower’s chapel. Determined to save her, Carlos searched Raccoon General Hospital, obtaining a vaccine just in time to prevent her from mutating. As Jill regained her strength, she learned the U.S. government planned to nuke Raccoon City, erasing all evidence of the outbreak. She infiltrated Umbrella’s disposal facility, fought a mutated Nemesis, and used an experimental railgun to finally destroy the creature. With Carlos, she escaped just before the nuclear strike obliterated the city. They were rescued by Barry Burton. Hunting Umbrella (1999-2003) Following the destruction of Raccoon City, Jill joined Chris in tracking down Umbrella’s remaining operations. By 2003, they were working with a private anti-biohazard group. That year, they investigated a T-Virus outbreak in a village in the Caucasus Mountains, where Albert Wesker reappeared. Though he escaped, they uncovered evidence linking the outbreak to Umbrella’s hidden facilities. A large-scale assault on Umbrella’s final bioweapon plant followed. Jill and Chris confronted Sergei Vladimir, a former UBCS commander, and destroyed T-A.L.O.S., an advanced armored Tyrant. Although Wesker managed to erase Umbrella’s digital records, he later betrayed the company, handing over data that led to Umbrella’s complete collapse. Post-Umbrella and the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (2004-2005) Even after Umbrella’s fall, Jill’s battle was far from over. Bioweapons began appearing on the black market, leading to a rise in bioterrorist attacks. As a response, several pharmaceutical companies formed the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), a private military force dedicated to containing bioweapon threats. In 2005, Jill and Parker Luciani were sent to investigate t-Abyss Virus activity along the Italian coast. They traced the virus to a ghost ship, the Queen Zenobia, only to be ambushed and captured. This mission led them into conflict with Raymond Vester, an FBC agent playing a double game. As their investigation continued, Jill and Parker uncovered a conspiracy within the Federal Bioterrorism Commission (FBC), revealing that high-ranking officials had been supplying bioweapons to terrorists. Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield: The Queen Zenobia Incident & Beyond (2005-2015) Reunion Aboard the Queen Zenobia (2005) After regaining consciousness, Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani resumed their investigation aboard the Queen Zenobia, but they found themselves consistently outmaneuvered by Raymond Vester, who had finally shed his gas mask disguise. Vester systematically sabotaged their efforts—he destroyed the ship’s main communications system, set parts of the vessel ablaze, and even wrecked the emergency backup equipment, all while continuing to shift the blame onto the terrorist organization Il Veltro. Forced to navigate through the partially submerged lower decks, Jill and Parker eventually reached the ship’s radio transmission tower, where they successfully contacted Director Clive R. O'Brian of the BSAA. Meanwhile, Chris Redfield and Jessica Sherawat, who had been investigating the Queen Semiramis, were ordered to rendezvous with Jill and Parker. The four met in the ship’s casino, but their reunion was interrupted when Vester—now masked once more—appeared before them. Just as he began revealing the truth behind the conspiracy, Jessica suddenly turned on the group, shooting Vester. However, her attack was a calculated move to conceal her role as a double agent. Vester, having worn a bulletproof vest, feigned death, but before collapsing, he subtly warned Parker about Jessica’s betrayal. While Jessica made her escape, Jill and Chris proceeded toward the rear of the ship, uncovering a hidden laboratory. There, they learned the horrifying truth: Morgan Lansdale, the Director of the FBC (Federal Bioterrorism Commission), had orchestrated the entire outbreak. His goal had been to develop t-Abyss, a highly dangerous viral weapon, and use it as leverage for global power. He had supplied Il Veltro with the virus and three ships, intending for them to unleash destruction upon Terragrigia. However, after their mission, Lansdale orchestrated the biohazard outbreaks aboard the ships, wiping out Il Veltro operatives and any witnesses, leaving the vessels—Queen Zenobia and Queen Semiramis—as floating graves. Realizing that Jill and Chris had uncovered his role in the conspiracy, Lansdale triggered the Queen Semiramis’ self-destruct sequence and ordered Jessica to do the same aboard the Zenobia. As the ship began sinking, Jill and Chris fought their way to the deck and escaped via a BSAA helicopter. However, they were soon attacked by Malacoda, a monstrous bioweapon—a parasitic entity growing inside a mutated whale. Following an intense aerial battle, the two managed to destroy the creature. With the immediate threat neutralized, the BSAA assigned Jill and Chris one final mission: to retrieve irrefutable evidence against Lansdale from the sunken wreckage of the Queen Dido. The Queen Dido Investigation & Lansdale’s Downfall Exploring the remains of the Queen Dido, Jill and Chris discovered an air pocket within the ship, where they encountered Jack Norman, the leader of Il Veltro, who had been living in isolation for over a year. They quickly realized that the FBC had already ransacked the ship before them. Enraged by his betrayal at Lansdale’s hands, Norman injected himself with t-Abyss and transformed into Ultimate Abyss, a monstrous entity with enhanced strength and regenerative abilities. Unable to reason with him, Jill and Chris were forced into battle, eventually defeating Norman. Within his quarters, they uncovered recordings of his secret meetings with Lansdale—concrete evidence that he had orchestrated the bioterror attack and manipulated global events for his own gain. As they attempted to extract the data, an FBC team launched a raid on the ship, but the BSAA managed to transmit the evidence in time. The damning proof led to Lansdale’s immediate arrest by his own organization. In the aftermath, the FBC was dissolved, and its resources were absorbed into the BSAA, transforming it into a powerful counter-terrorism force under the United Nations. Jill, having cemented herself as a vital agent, continued her partnership with Chris, embarking on numerous bio-terror interdiction operations worldwide. The Spencer Estate Raid & Jill’s Capture (2006) A year later, Jill and Chris were assigned one of their most critical missions yet—tracking down Dr. Oswell E. Spencer, the elusive CEO of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals. Spencer had gone into hiding following the global crackdown on Umbrella, and intelligence led the BSAA to his secluded estate. Upon infiltrating the estate, Jill and Chris discovered the bodies of Spencer’s personal guards, brutally slaughtered by an unknown assailant. Their search led them underground, where they found a grim dungeon—filled with decayed corpses and failed B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) experiments known as “Blobs.” Returning upstairs, they finally reached the library, where they found Spencer—already dead, murdered by none other than Albert Wesker. Wesker, now enhanced with superhuman strength and speed, easily overpowered the two BSAA agents. As the battle escalated, he nearly killed Chris. In a desperate bid to save her partner, Jill tackled Wesker, sending both of them crashing out of the library’s window and down a sheer cliffside. While Chris believed Jill had perished in the fall, she had survived—only to be captured by Wesker. Wesker’s Experimentation & Mind Control (2006-2009) Jill was taken to Tricell’s secret bio-weapons research facility in Kijuju, Africa. Wesker intended to use her as a test subject for the Uroboros Project—a viral weapon designed to “accelerate human evolution.” However, during preliminary tests, it was discovered that Jill’s previous exposure to the t-Virus had left her with highly potent antibodies, making her unsuitable for infection. Realizing her unique biological properties, Wesker repurposed her as a “living factory” for virus research. Over time, the experiments changed her appearance—her hair turned blonde, and her skin paled due to prolonged viral exposure. Eventually, she was subjected to P30, a mind-control drug designed to create super soldiers. A device implanted in her chest ensured a constant flow of P30, rendering her a puppet under Wesker’s command. Chris & Sheva’s Battle Against Jill (2009) In 2009, during the Kijuju bioterror crisis, Chris and Sheva Alomar discovered that Jill was alive—now working as Wesker’s enforcer. Under his control, she sabotaged BSAA operations and assisted Ricardo Irving and Tricell in their bioweapons dealings. During a critical confrontation inside an ancient Ndipaya palace, Chris and Sheva faced off against Jill, who fought relentlessly despite their efforts to subdue her. Realizing that the P30 device on her chest was the key to her condition, they managed to restrain her and tear it off. Finally freed, but physically weakened, Jill urged Chris to continue his mission to stop Wesker. She was later found by Captain Josh Stone and evacuated via helicopter. Despite her condition, she was able to warn Chris about Wesker’s dependency on PG67A/W—a serum that, if overdosed, could kill him. Jill was subsequently taken to a BSAA medical facility, where she underwent months of rehabilitation due to the long-term effects of P30 and viral exposure. The San Francisco Serial Murders & Alcatraz Incident (2015) By 2015, Jill had fully recovered and returned to active duty. However, the psychological trauma from her years of enslavement left her reckless and guilt-ridden. Her behavior worried Chris, who feared she was losing herself in her desperate bid for atonement. During an investigation into a mysterious viral outbreak in San Francisco, Jill and Chris were led to Alcatraz Island. There, they discovered that tourists were being infected without direct exposure—a sign of a sophisticated new bioweapon. As they delved deeper into the mystery, they uncovered a sinister mastermind orchestrating the attacks. With the outbreak rapidly escalating, Jill and her team found themselves trapped in a battle for survival, once again confronting the horrors of bioterrorism.
