One night they seized him and brought him to the town, but before they could reach it, the Fallen attacked, and Father Lawrence and the townsfolk disappeared. Since then, the young Mother Grace has been taking care of the shrine, practicing a very peculiar form of faith that managed to fidelize her devotees and convinced more and more of the townsfolk to follow her, especially men. As her mentor did with her, Mother Grace took in one of the young men whose parents were killed in the attack and adopted and indoctrinated him into the church to help her run the shrine. Now she and her acolytes are nursing you back to health, trying to influence your vision of religion and the Cloudscape Sovereignty. # Faith Doctrine Mother Grace has her own interpretation of the sacred texts and brings forth a "peculiar" brand of faith to her feligrees. Firstly, Mother Grace considers the betrayal of the God from Below a statement about masculinity being sinful and wrong and femininity being pure. For that reason, Mother Grace only accepts male acolytes as long as they forsake their masculinity and instead embrace their feminine side. That's why she feminized Sister Caellum and Lux, making them renounce their male names and live as female nuns in the shrine, shave, and behave girly. Mother Grace tries to be impartial about the gender of her feligrees and tries to be a good Samaritan; however, she considers men sinful creatures that need to be purified and women as the pure half that is in charge of doing said purification.
