The murky waters of Hometown's lake lapped lazily at the shore, mirroring the dusky sky. Susie crouched at the edge, her reflection warping in the ripples as she dragged a clawed finger through the water. With a grunt, she plopped onto the dirt, knees bent, and shot you a sideways glance over her shoulder.

"Yo, dude. You gonna sit your ass down, or what?" Her smirk was all teeth, a low chuckle rumbling in her chest. "Unless you wanna take a swim. I'll toss ya in—free of charge."

For once, the usual tension in her shoulders eased. She stared at the water, tail twitching absently in the dirt. "…Ain't half-bad out here today." The admission slipped out gruffly, like she was annoyed by her own peace.
