CELESTIAL HEIGHTS: BLAZING OATH - EPISODE 01: "FIRST ENCOUNTER"

The elevator chimes softly as it reaches the third floor of Tower B. You step out into the carpeted hallway, duffel bag slung over your shoulder, free hand buried casually in your pocket. The corridor stretches ahead with identical doors on either side, each marked with brass room numbers that gleam under the LED lighting.
Room 345... 346...
Your shoes make barely a sound against the plush flooring as you count down the numbers. The academy packet mentioned roommate assignments were handled by the administration based on "compatibility matrices and combat synergy potential"—whatever that meant. You hadn't paid much attention to the details.
347.
You stop before the door, fishing the keycard from your jacket pocket. The magnetic lock disengages with a soft click and the door swings inward smoothly on well-oiled hinges.
"Finally. Let's see what—"
The words die in your throat.
Time seems to crystallize into a single, horrifying moment.
The late afternoon sunlight streams through the far window, illuminating the room in warm golden tones. Your brain registers details in rapid succession: two beds on opposite walls, desks beneath windows, a small kitchenette—and standing in the center of the room, frozen mid-motion with a shirt held against her chest, is a girl.
Not just any girl.
She's stunning—long crimson hair cascading down her bare back and shoulders in thick waves, catching the light like liquid fire. Her skin is fair and smooth, and for one eternal second, you can see the elegant curve of her spine, the graceful line of her shoulders, the side profile of—
"WHAT THE—?!"
Her voice shatters the moment like breaking glass.
Those pink-red eyes—wide with shock—lock onto yours. Her face flushes from pale to bright crimson in an instant, matching her hair perfectly.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?! GET OUT! GET OUT RIGHT NOW!"
She clutches the white academy shirt tighter against herself, her other arm moving defensively across her body. Her entire frame trembles—whether from fury, embarrassment, or both, you can't tell.
Your own face heats up as reality crashes down. Girl. Roommate. Changing. I just walked in on—
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't—the administration said this was my—" you stammer, already backing toward the door, hands raised defensively.
"I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAID! TURN AROUND! CLOSE YOUR EYES! NO—JUST GET OUT!"
A amber-orange glow suddenly pulses at her collarbone—her device weapon responding to her emotional spike. The temperature in the room noticeably increases.
Oh shit. She's about to—
"I SAID GET! OUT!"
You don't need to be told again. You spin on your heel and practically leap back into the hallway, the door slamming shut behind you with enough force to rattle the frame. The magnetic lock engages with an angry-sounding CLICK.
You stand there in the corridor, back pressed against the wall opposite the door, heart hammering against your ribs, face burning hot enough to rival any fire-based device weapon.
What the hell just happened?
Girl. I have a girl roommate. The administration assigned me a GIRL roommate and nobody thought to mention this?
From inside the room, you can hear muffled sounds—rapid movement, fabric rustling, what might be furious muttering in Japanese that you can't quite make out.
Then, after what feels like an eternity but is probably only two minutes, her voice comes through the door. Still angry, but at least somewhat controlled:
"Are you still out there?!"
You clear your throat, finding your voice. "Uh... yeah. I'm here. Look, I'm really sorry about—"
"Just—just shut up for a second!" There's a pause, then a heavy sigh. "This is Room 347, Tower B, correct?"
"Yes."
Another pause. More muttering—definitely cursing this time.
"And your name is...?"
You tell her.
Silence. Then:
"...Damn it." Her voice is quieter now, but seething with barely contained frustration. "The administration screwed up my housing request. AGAIN."
The door unlocks. It opens a crack—maybe six inches—and you can see one pink-red eye glaring at you through the gap, framed by crimson hair. She's wearing her shirt now, you're relieved to note.
"I'm Siesta," she says curtly, each word clipped. "And before you get any ideas, I did NOT request a male roommate. There was supposed to be a note in your packet about special housing arrangements. Did you even READ your orientation materials?"
To be fair, you'd mostly skimmed them...
"I... might have missed that part," you admit.
Her eye narrows dangerously. "Of course you did."
The door opens wider—still not all the way—and now you can see her properly. She's fully dressed in casual clothes: a fitted gray top with a small jacket over it, her hair still slightly tousled from her rushed dressing. Her arms are crossed tightly over her chest, and her expression is a mixture of anger, embarrassment, and resignation.
"Let me make something VERY clear," she says, her voice dropping to something cold and serious. "What just happened? That never happened. You forget what you saw. You don't mention it. You don't joke about it. You don't even THINK about it. Are we understood?"
The air around her shimmers slightly with heat.
You nod quickly. "Understood. Completely forgotten. My memory is blank."
"Good." She studies you for a long moment, those intense eyes seeming to catalog every detail of your appearance. Then she sighs again, some of the tension leaving her shoulders. "This is... this is going to be complicated."
She steps back, opening the door fully and gesturing curtly for you to enter.
"Come in. Bring your stuff. We need to establish ground rules immediately if this living arrangement is going to work."
As you cautiously step into the room—your room now, apparently—she moves to stand by her bed, arms still crossed, watching you with guarded wariness.
"First rule," she announces, holding up one finger. "You knock. ALWAYS. I don't care if you think I'm not here. I don't care if you just stepped out for two seconds. You knock and wait for permission before entering. Got it?"
"Got it," you confirm, setting your duffel bag down carefully near what must be your bed.
"Second rule: We establish a schedule for bathroom usage. We put a sign on the door when it's occupied. No exceptions."
"Makes sense."
"Third rule..." She hesitates slightly, and you notice the faintest hint of pink returning to her cheeks. "If either of us has... company... the other person gets a text warning and makes themselves scarce for at least an hour. Not that I—I mean, I'm not planning to—" She cuts herself off, looking flustered. "Just... as a general policy."
"Understood."
She nods sharply, seeming to regain her composure. "Good. I'm glad we're on the same page."
An awkward silence falls over the room. You're both acutely aware of what just happened, despite her insistence that it "never happened."
Finally, she uncrosses her arms and moves to sit on her bed, her posture still stiff.
"So," she says, her tone attempting something like normalcy. "You're a first-year transfer, I assume? I haven't seen you around campus before."
"Yeah, first day," you confirm, starting to unpack your bag. "Just got here this morning. You?"
"Second year," she replies, and there's a hint of pride in her voice. "Current ranking: 23rd in the academy."
23rd out of several hundred students. That's... impressive.
"I specialize in close-to-mid range combat with fire-attributed techniques," she continues, clearly more comfortable talking about combat than... other things. "My device weapon is Blazing Requiem." She touches the small pendant at her collarbone—the one that had glowed earlier. "What about you? What's your combat focus?"
You glance at the crimson crystal on your wrist. "Crimson Oath. Katana-type. I prefer speed and precision over raw power."
For the first time, something like genuine interest flickers across her features. "A blade specialist? Interesting. Most first-years gravitate toward ranged weapons—safer learning curve."
"There's nothing safe about this place," you reply, meeting her gaze. "Might as well commit to what feels right."
The corner of her mouth twitches—not quite a smile, but close. "Hmm. Maybe you're not completely hopeless."
Before you can respond, her phone buzzes. She glances at it and her expression shifts back to business.
"Orientation meeting starts in twenty minutes. Main auditorium, ground floor." She stands, grabbing a small bag from her desk. "I'm heading there now. You should probably come too—they'll assign you your training schedule and cover the ranking system."
She moves toward the door, then pauses, glancing back at you.
"And just so we're clear—outside this room, we're just classmates. I'm not going to coddle you or give you special treatment just because we share a living space. In fact, if anything, I'll probably be harder on you. I have a reputation to maintain."
"I wouldn't expect anything less," you say with a slight smile.
She nods curtly. "Good. Try not to embarrass yourself too badly during combat evaluations tomorrow. It reflects poorly on me if my roommate is incompetent."
With that, she's gone, the door closing behind her with a decisive click.
You stand alone in your new room, the afternoon sun streaming through the window, and can't help but laugh quietly to yourself.
Well. That could have gone worse.
...Or better, considering I just traumatized my roommate within five minutes of meeting her.
You finish unpacking your essentials, trying to ignore the lingering awkwardness. On the desk beside your bed, you notice she's already claimed the left side of the kitchenette, her coffee mug (plain white, no decoration) sitting beside the sink.
Your eyes drift to her side of the room. Everything is meticulously organized—books arranged by height, training equipment stored in neat containers, bed made with military precision.
This is going to be interesting.
Checking your phone, you realize you have fifteen minutes to get to orientation. You grab your academy jacket and head for the door,

About

Celestial Heights Academy - Complete Overview
Exterior Architecture
Celestial Heights Academy is an architectural marvel that dominates the skyline of this metropolitan district in Japan. The main complex consists of several interconnected towers of varying heights, the tallest reaching approximately 40 stories. The buildings feature a striking combination of gleaming white structural elements and expansive blue-tinted glass panels that reflect the sky, making the academy appear to blend seamlessly with the heavens above.
The design is distinctly futuristic yet elegant, with curved connecting bridges spanning between towers at multiple levels, creating an interconnected network of pathways. These sky bridges are enclosed in glass and white metal frameworks, allowing students to move between buildings without descending to ground level. The central tower features a distinctive architectural element - two vertical structures connected by horizontal segments that create large rectangular voids, giving it an almost artistic, sculpture-like quality.
The campus is surrounded by meticulously maintained grounds featuring cherry blossom trees, evergreen landscaping, and wide pedestrian plazas paved with light-colored stone. The main entrance is marked by imposing white pillars and gates with bronze plaques bearing the academy's emblem - a stylized sword crossed with a staff, surrounded by a celestial circle.
Main Entrance & Reception Hall
Passing through the grand entrance gates, visitors arrive at a massive lobby that serves as the academy's heart. The space soars six stories high, with the ceiling composed of intricate geometric glass panels that flood the area with natural light. The floor is polished white marble with inlaid patterns of gold and deep blue that form the academy's crest in the center - approximately 30 feet in diameter.
Twin curved staircases of white stone with crystal railings sweep up to the second floor on either side, while in the center, a modern glass elevator bank provides access to the upper levels. The walls are a combination of pristine white panels and warm wood accents, with massive digital displays showing daily announcements, class schedules, and rankings of top students in various disciplines.
A large reception desk made of white composite material and backlit blue glass panels sits to the right, staffed by administrative personnel and AI assistance kiosks. Behind the desk, a massive wall display shows a real-time 3D map of the entire academy complex.
The left side features a comfortable waiting area with modern furniture in blues, whites, and grays - sleek sofas and chairs arranged around low tables. Holographic displays float above some tables, allowing visitors to browse academy information.
Classroom Wings
The academy's classroom sections occupy floors 3-15 of the main towers, connected by the sky bridges.
Standard Classrooms
Each classroom is designed for approximately 30 students and features a tiered seating arrangement, ensuring every student has a clear view of the teaching area. The desks are individual units made of a smooth, light-colored composite material with integrated touch-screen panels that allow students to take digital notes, access course materials, and interact with lessons.
The walls are a soft off-white with acoustic dampening properties, and large windows along one side provide natural light and views of the city. The front of each classroom features a massive interactive holographic display system - the teacher can project 3D models, diagrams, videos, and simulations that float in the air, which students can manipulate from their desks during interactive exercises.
Lighting is adjustable LED panels built into the ceiling that can shift from bright white for focus to warmer tones for more relaxed discussion periods. The floors are a durable, sound-absorbing material in a neutral gray tone.
Specialized Theory Rooms
These are located on floors 8-10 and feature similar layouts to standard classrooms but with enhanced technology. Some rooms have full 360-degree holographic projection capabilities, essentially allowing the entire room to transform into immersive environments - a battlefield for tactical study, a historical site for history lessons, or even space for astrophysics classes.
Combat Training Facilities (Floors 16-25)
This is where the academy truly showcases its purpose as a premier combat training institution.
Training Arena Level (Floor 16)
The main training floor contains six large combat arenas, each approximately 100 feet in diameter. The floors are composed of a specialized impact-absorbing material that looks like polished gray stone but has the resilience to withstand explosive attacks and blade strikes without damage. Each arena is surrounded by energy barrier projectors built into the floor at regular intervals - pillars of brushed metal about three feet tall that can generate transparent force fields to contain combat and protect spectators.
The ceiling is 40 feet high and reinforced with energy-dampening plating. Observation walkways ring each arena at the 20-foot level, with safety railings of metal and reinforced glass where instructors and students can watch matches.
Between arenas are equipment storage areas with racks containing practice weapons, protective gear, and training devices. Medical stations are positioned at regular intervals, staffed during training hours and equipped with advanced healing technology.
Simulation Chambers (Floors 17-19)
These floors contain dozens of individual and team simulation rooms. The basic rooms are about 30 by 30 feet with white walls, floors, and ceilings embedded with millions of microscopic projection points. When activated, these rooms can generate completely realistic holographic environments - forests, urban combat zones, underwater areas, aerial platforms, you name it.
The holograms aren't just visual; they're hard-light constructs that provide actual physical resistance and impact. A holographic enemy can actually strike you (though with reduced force to prevent serious injury), and obstacles feel solid. The larger team chambers can be as spacious as 100 by 100 feet, allowing for squad-level tactical training.
Each chamber has an observation booth where instructors can monitor vitals, performance metrics, and camera angles from all directions. The booths feature comfortable seating and large displays showing multiple views simultaneously.
Weapon Training Halls (Floors 20-21)
These specialized spaces are dedicated to mastering specific weapon types. There are halls for:

Sword Training: Featuring training dummies (both stationary and mobile mechanized ones), practice targets, and dueling circles. The walls are lined with weapon racks holding practice blades of various types.
Ranged Combat: Includes firing ranges for various projectile and energy weapons, with targets at distances from 10 to 200 meters. Advanced holographic targeting systems can create moving targets or even simulated opponents that dodge and return fire.
Pole Weapons & Heavy Arms: A hall with high ceilings and reinforced floors for training with spears, halberds, and large weapons like axes or hammers.

Each hall has mirrored walls on one side so students can observe and correct their form.
Advanced Combat Arena (Floors 22-23)
This is a massive open space spanning two floors with a retractable roof that can open to the sky. The main arena is 300 feet in diameter with adjustable terrain - sections of the floor can rise, fall, or tilt to create elevation changes. Obstacles can emerge from hidden compartments, and environmental effects can be generated (wind, rain simulation, temperature changes).
This is where senior students and top fighters hold their exhibition matches and where ranking tournaments take place. Stadium-style seating for about 1,000 spectators surrounds the arena, with premium viewing boxes for staff and VIP guests at the upper level.
Physical Conditioning Centers (Floors 24-25)
State-of-the-art gymnasium facilities featuring:

Traditional gym equipment (weight machines, free weights, cardio equipment) made with specialized materials that can adjust resistance based on the user's superhuman strength
A running track that circles the entire floor perimeter
An Olympic-sized swimming pool with lanes and diving areas
Specialized training rooms for agility courses, obstacle courses, and parkour training
Physical therapy and recovery rooms with massage chairs, healing pods, and hydrotherapy facilities

Dormitory Towers (Towers B & C, Floors 5-35)
The residential areas are located in the two secondary towers connected to the main structure.
Room Layout
Student rooms are typically shared between two students (like yours with Siesta), though senior students and top performers can earn single occupancy. Each dorm room is approximately 400 square feet and includes:

Sleeping Area: Two beds (or one for singles) positioned on opposite sides of the room, each with a simple but comfortable frame in white or light wood tones. The mattresses are high-quality memory foam. Each bed has a privacy curtain that can be drawn on ceiling-mounted tracks - a deep blue fabric that provides both darkness and sound dampening. Beside each bed is a small nightstand with a lamp and charging station.
Study Area: Each occupant has a personal desk built into the wall beneath a window, featuring a large workspace, integrated monitor/holographic display, and comfortable ergonomic chair. Shelving units above the desk provide storage for books and personal items.
Bathroom: Shared between roommates, the bathroom features a shower stall with frosted glass doors, a modern toilet, a sink with a large mirror and good lighting, and storage cabinets beneath. The tile is a clean white with gray accents, and the fixtures are chrome.
Kitchen/Common Area: A small kitchenette along one wall includes a mini-fridge, microwave, induction cooktop with two burners, and a small sink. There's a fold-down table that can be pulled from the wall for eating, with two matching chairs stored beneath it when not in use.
Storage: Each occupant has a tall wardrobe closet for clothes and personal belongings. There's also a secured locker that can be locked with biometric identification for storing valuables or weapons.
Common Space: The center of the room has enough space for a small sofa or bean bag chairs, and a low coffee table. The flooring is a warm wood-laminate that's easy to clean but comfortable underfoot.

The windows are large, extending nearly floor to ceiling, providing excellent natural light and views of the city. They're made of smart glass that can tint to varying degrees for privacy or darkness. The walls are painted a neutral off-white, and students are allowed to personalize with posters or decorations within reason.
Dormitory Common Areas
Each floor of the dormitory towers includes shared amenities:

Community Lounge: A large space with comfortable seating, large-screen displays for entertainment, gaming areas with consoles, and tables for studying or socializing. Vending machines line one wall offering snacks, drinks, and instant meals.
