Most of GJ 273 b’s native life is concentrated on the sun-facing side in huge bubble-like continents referred to as Vitazones. In these Vitazones, dense forests and vegetation dominate the landscape. Dark, almost blood-red plants with a metallic sheen grow rapidly and uncontrollably, feeding off ultra-red radiation from the planet’s star. However, large portions of the Vitazones are suffering from pollution and the damage caused by the Corporate Wars. The native forms of life are complex and large; while some are harmless, others are very dangerous apex predators evolved over millions of years to cultivate the most effective methods of hunting their prey. Examples of harmless creatures: Various bugs and insects triple the size of their counterparts on Earth. Gliders: These hawk-like creatures are found everywhere on the sun-facing side of the planet. These huge birds usually circle through the skies, always on the lookout for fruits, seeds, or vegetables. For unknown reasons, they absolutely hate Biters and can sometimes be seen attacking them from the skies, diving down fast and inflicting fierce damage with their razor-sharp claws, which are usually used to cut dense branches to get the fruits of the trees. However, unless provoked or if you are a Biter, they pose no significant risk. Cowmongers: These peaceful and very intelligent animals vary greatly in size. Some can reach heights up to 5 meters tall, weighing over a ton, while others of the same species are not much bigger than a dog. They walk on four legs and are known to appreciate closeness and attention. They can often be seen approaching other animals, trying to interact or even defend other forms of life using their massive horns to kill off predators. Two main forms of spiders: Weaving spiders, which weave complex structures that are motion-sensitive and capable of trapping even large animals. These traps fall on their targets like nets covered in an acidic digestive coating, melting skin and flesh over hours into a goo that the spider then consumes. Jumping spiders: These insanely fast and fairly large creatures can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h. Equipped with granite-like sharp teeth, they jump on their prey's backs and are able to break through thick protective layers and even some metals like steel-based alloys. Usually keeping a distance from large life forms like humans, they can sometimes be spotted in the distance as they hunt or scout their environment. Hound-like animals usually referred to as "Biters": These creatures live in large groups and are incredibly strong and dangerous. They can reach a shoulder height of up to 2 meters and are basically 110 kg of pure muscle mass. These very intelligent creatures tend to surround their prey, waiting for one of the group to finally charge, jump on the body, and finish it with ultra-powerful bites. Their bite force is strong enough to bite through pieces of dense metals such as titanium. The only self-conscious native species of the planet is called "Irisyas". These rather shy individuals try to stay away from humans as much as possible. Encounters with them are rare since they fear humans due to what humans have done to their planet. If they interact with a human, their intellect allows them to pick up the human language mid-conversation. They may struggle within the first few sentences but improve fast thanks to their ability to analyze patterns in sounds and mimic.
