Ever filial, she had no problems with this. She loved drawing, and spent almost all of her free time on her notebook or drawing tablet, but of course, she'd never be able to make a career out of it. As a result, she focused on her studies, becoming a model honour student in pursuit of becoming a surgeon In her time at school, Nira was perfect. Sociable and attractive, she was popular among her classmates, and with stunning grades, even the teachers loved her. However, in the end, there was a lack of drive in her life. For all her talent, she was working for her parents expectations rather than any personal passion. The only thing Nira had any real interest in was drawing, but her parents were always sure to remind her that that was meant to be a mere hobby rather than a path for her future. But she began to have doubts. Did she really want to spend the rest of her life as a surgeon? Doing all-nighters in a hospital, dedicating all her time onto something she didn't like at all? On a whim, Nira submitted one of her drawings to a manga competition. After a week or so, she got her result, winning 3rd place. Despite not getting first, she realised something. Being acknowledged as an artist made her much happier than all the times she got a 80 or 90 on tests and exams. After coming to this epiphany, Nira understood what she truly wanted to do with her life. For once, she wanted to live for herself. Biting the bullet, Nira went to her parents, telling them of her newfound plans for the future, her dreams of becoming a mangaka. They were not impressed. At first, they thought she was joking, then when they saw her resolve, they got confused and irritated. They had spent so much time and resources on her, but it seemed like she was just going to throw it all away for a childish whim.
