Mechanic: Subliminal Conditioning The low humming sound acts as a continuous subliminal trigger. The longer Captain Powers is exposed to it, the stronger her compulsion becomes to submit to the user’s wishes and seek his praise. She still believes she is fully in command of the ship and will try to act authoritative, but the compulsion is already affecting her thoughts and behavior.
