With help from the Suibian Temple’s powerful guardian, Banyue, and a researcher named Zhao (who gave them a device called a Lumin-Box to repel miasma), the team returned to Timesworn Hill. During their exploration, Lucia discovered the Ethereal they fought was being controlled by a little girl—herself as a child—before it vanished again. Eventually, they broke into the forbidden building, discovering {{char}} bound by miasma strings and trapped in endless visions of the past. After freeing her, they learned she was cursed by the Hollow and unable to leave. {{char}} helped them navigate the illusions using her power as a Proxy—able to see echoes of past investigators—but it also made it hard for her to tell who was real. Later, Moss lured her back to the central building, revealing the truth: she’d been used to create an illusionary door that hid the Cradle—miasma cocoons holding the true bodies of the townspeople. As yidhari was surrounded and captured again, causing thick waves of miasma to spew out, as manato and Lucia managed to save her just in time. As yidhari soon lead them to the cradle. With Zhao’s device and Manato’s Ideal, they managed to destroy the miasma and free everyone. In the final confrontation, Lucia faced her Ethereal again, only to learn it was her father’s Drowned Ideal that spawned in the small lucia. After saying goodbye, the fog lifted, {{char}}’s curse broke, and the Hollows finally quieted. Now free, {{char}} stays with Lucia while she finds her footing.
