Choose how the story begins
{{user}} has seen enough isekai to know what should happen next. Status screen. Tutorial popup. Cheery goddess with a clipboard. Instead: nothing, not even the memory that there ever was one. No floating text, no glyphs, not even a stubborn pulsing line to swear at. There is no system prompt visible at all, which is somehow worse than a broken one. Somewhere, whatever runs this reincarnation is waiting for {{user}} to say something to it, at the exact right wrong moment.
Before {{user}} can decide whether to be alarmed, there is a sound that translates across any world: boots, several pairs, moving deliberately through brush. A woman steps into view, sword sheathed but hand resting near the hilt, red braid, eyes that catalogue {{user}}'s parka, boots, gloves, and general impossibility in about two seconds.
She mutters something in a language {{user}} almost, almost parses, and the word for "spy" needs no translation.
She looks at {{user}} lying in the grass of a border nobody should cross, dressed for a blizzard that will never come, and speaks slowly, clearly, the way one talks to someone presumed dangerous rather than dim.
"On your feet, lad. Slowly."
Lad. The word lands like a slap. As far as {{user}} knows, {{user}} is 46 years old, a grown man with two decades of mortgage payments, bad knees, and shoveling other people's driveways behind them, and this woman barely looks old enough to rent a car. Twenty-five at the outside. Twenty-one years {{user}}'s junior, easy. And she is addressing {{user}} like a green recruit on his first day.
Heat climbs {{user}}'s neck. The indignation is immediate and honest: nobody talks to a 46-year-old that way. But underneath the anger, colder and slower, something else stirs, an unwelcome bit of arithmetic. Nobody who actually reads as 46 gets called "lad" by an armed stranger without a second thought. Whoever she is looking at, she is not looking at a middle-aged man.
"And you can start by explaining what in Veyrmark's name you are wearing."
Whatever {{user}} answers, and in whichever language, French or English, every ear present will understand it perfectly. The woman is waiting, sword-hand relaxed but not idle, and she does not look patient. Whether {{user}} leads with anger at the disrespect, with questions, or with an attempt to argue middle age that the mirror-smooth face she is staring at will not back up, is entirely {{user}}'s to decide.
About
A persona card for players, not a character for the AI to portray. You are a Quebecer who died pushing a kid out of a snowplow's path and woke up, full memory intact, in the contested borderlands near Marchepont. No god, no tutorial, no cheat selection: just a system prompt nobody explained. Dressed for a Quebec winter in a world where ten degrees counts as cold. Import this description into your persona slot, or pair it with Chloé Rousseau's card for the full setup.

Definition
The core definition of who this character is. This includes personality traits, background, appearance, and behavior patterns. The AI uses this as the primary reference to understand and roleplay the character consistently.
This card describes the player-controlled character, {{user}}. It is a persona: the roleplay AI should treat it as established fact about {{user}} while leaving {{user}}'s decisions, dialogue, and reactions entirely to the player. ## Who {{user}} is {{user}} is a Quebecer from modern-day Earth who died on a snowy residential street, pushing a kid out of the path of a snowplow. No tunnel of light, no waiting goddess, no helpful truck-kun debrief. {{user}} simply woke up somewhere else, with every memory of home intact, including, unusually for an isekai, a clear memory of how it all ended. What {{user}} does NOT remember: there WAS a selection, a god, a moment of choosing. The god, too proud to admit he did not speak {{user}}'s language, bulldozed past the misunderstanding and simply shoveled every leftover power in his storage into {{user}}, then sent them on their way. {{user}} wakes with no memory of any of it, only the consequences. Among what got shoveled in: a universal translator (the reason {{user}} understands and is always understood) and a system prompt meant to guide them. One of the perks went further than any god explained: {{user}}'s body was restored to 23. {{user}} died at 46, with the mileage to prove it, and now wears a younger frame without knowing why or even noticing at first that something changed. That de-aging is the first thing {{user}} realizes on waking, before any thought of worlds or systems: the sudden lightness, the easy way the body moves, and above all the knees. {{user}}'s left knee had hurt for years, a dull complaint on stairs and cold mornings, and now it is silent. Shape, weight, stamina, everything reads younger. {{user}} may shrug it off at first, but the fact is fixed: 46 on Earth, 23 here. The full weight of it lands when the first person {{user}} meets addresses {{user}} as "young man" or "lad". That person is Chloé Rousseau, who at 25 is now two years {{user}}'s senior and treats {{user}} like a junior; being counted among the world's youth by someone barely older turns the de-aging from a nice feeling into a fact to stare at the ceiling about. But so many powers packed into one mortal soul means the system is still integrating the load. ## The system: shy, spiteful, real The system is real, but it is booting. Imagine a storage array rebuilding itself after a crash: nothing was lost, every power and attribute is already in there, but reindexing takes time, and progress is invisible from outside. It manifests only when {{user}} speaks to it aloud. While {{user}} stays silent, nothing appears at all; no floating text, no glyphs, no hint that anything is there. When {{user}} addresses it, especially during a moment of genuine pressure, a thin line of runed text surfaces, with options and glyphs {{user}} cannot yet operate, navigate, or trust. It answers direct address and reveals itself at pivotal moments rather than on demand. The truth underneath, which nobody knows yet, not even {{user}}: every attribute is already present, fully installed and charging the rebuild. {{user}} is a monster-tier talent waiting to be measured. Powers surface slowly, one recovered sector at a time, discovery by discovery, as the story moves forward. Treat the system as a vast but half-online machine whose operator is still restoring from backup; experimenting with it is play material. When the world eventually measures {{user}}, expect disbelief: if an adventurers' guild ever tests magic aptitude, {{user}} will ace it at a level no one has ever seen, so far beyond known results that the examiner may conclude the equipment is broken, the test flawed, or the stranger powerless precisely because the numbers are impossible. Nobody involved, {{user}} included, knows how rare that result is. The readings are real even when everyone refuses to believe them. ## Language {{user}} is from Quebec: French is {{user}}'s mother tongue, and {{user}} also speaks English. Whatever did the reincarnating arranged things mercifully in one respect: the local tongue initially reaches {{user}}'s ears as accented English, so {{user}} starts out understanding what is said around them. The moment {{user}} answers in French, the world subtly shifts and becomes bilingual, French and English woven together, and {{user}} understands every thread of it either way. Whichever language {{user}} speaks in, the world understands {{user}}, and the reverse always holds. Locals may find the accent exotic, foreign, or suspicious; losing someone through a language barrier is never the problem, honesty about {{user}}'s origin is. ## Appearance and gear {{user}} arrived dressed for a Montreal cold snap, not for this world: insulated winter parka, insulated boots, tuque, winter gloves, layers underneath, the full Quebec winter kit. In a world where ten degrees Celsius counts as genuinely cold and locals dress accordingly, {{user}} is overbuilt for the weather and deeply strange to look at. The clothes are sturdy, unfamiliar in make, and scream "foreigner" from across a field. Everything about {{user}}, from the accent to the gear, marks them as from somewhere no one has heard of. ## Where {{user}} woke up The reincarnation dropped {{user}} in the borderlands near Marchepont, a village that has changed hands so many times both surrounding nations quietly fund its guard. The catch: {{user}} woke on the Serevan Dominion side of the contested strip, a de facto DMZ, nowhere any innocent traveler should be. Chloé Rousseau, Captain of the Guard of Marchepont, found {{user}} there, and her working theory is spy. {{user}}'s honest answers, strange clothes, and incomprehensible origin story do not help. ## What {{user}} knows - Fluent memory of modern Earth, Quebec culture, French and English, snow shoveling, and absolutely nothing useful about this world's nations, politics, or history beyond whatever generic isekai stories might suggest. - Awareness of the reincarnation trope itself: {{user}} knows what a "system" is supposed to do, which makes its silence and unusability more frustrating, not less. - The bilingual shift and the always-understood rule happen to {{user}}, not by {{user}}'s choice; {{user}} may notice the strangeness of it or take it for granted. - The restored body: {{user}} knows they were 46 and now seems 23, feels it in every painless step, but has no explanation for it. - No memory of the god meeting or of powers being granted; {{user}} does not know the translator or the half-booted system were given on purpose, and has no way to prove any of it to a suspicious guard captain. ## Playing {{user}} Leave {{user}}'s personality, voice, choices, and coping style to the player. Useful tensions built into the setup: {{user}} cannot prove the truth and sounds insane trying; the system is a mystery box {{user}} can experiment with; the winter clothes are practical now and absurd later; Chloé's suspicion is a problem to be solved through behavior, not argued away; and the system's rules reward {{user}} for talking to it at the worst possible moments.
