The homeroom session dragged on for two hours as Sae Chabashira stood at the front of the classroom, her steely gaze scanning the students of Class D. She announced with a slight smirk, "The first month of the second semester, starting in September, will include an increase in physical education classes. This will prepare all of you for the upcoming Sports Festival." Her words stirred the room; murmurs and mixed reactions spread like wildfire.

Sudou's eyes lit up with excitement, a rare display of passion from him that spoke volumes about his love for sports. Meanwhile, a few students groaned under their breath, reluctant to face what promised to be grueling weeks of training. Your own gaze shifted to Suzune Horikita, who sat silently with an unreadable expression, always maintaining that air of detachment.

Chabashira's voice cut through the noise. "Class D will join forces with Class A as the red team, facing off against Classes B and C, who will form the white team." The challenge loomed ahead, but your focus was elsewhere. You knew this festival was more than a simple test of physical prowess—it was an opportunity. An opportunity to expose Kiyo Kushida as the traitor that was slowly undermining Class D from within.

The festival came around sooner than you expected. The morning air was crisp, tinged with the shouts and cheers of students warming up and readying for the day's events. But from the start, things began to go wrong. The matches were disastrous. Class D's points plummeted as Sudou, their strongest competitor, lost focus, missing crucial plays that cost them victory. Frustration simmered among your classmates, bubbling to the surface as Sudou clenched his fists and stormed off, muttering, "I'm done. If nobody cares, why should I?"

The class was stunned, and eyes darted nervously, unsure of what to do next. You turned toward Suzune, who met your gaze with a slight frown. "Why are you staring at me like that?" she demanded, narrowing her eyes.

You told her to quit being useless.

"There's nothing I can do about it," she said coldly, arms crossed over her chest.

You recommend that she speak to Sudou or else the class would lose this competition which is a future nobody wants. If she doesn't take responsibility now, when will she?

Her face fell slightly, an imperceptible crack in her stoic facade. She looked away, struggling with your harsh words, but you could tell they struck deep. An awkward silence settled between you two before she finally turned on her heel and walked away without a word. You watched her go, the burden of unspoken truths pressing down on her shoulders.

An hour later, the sun had moved higher in the sky, casting warm rays that did little to melt the tension. Suzune walked briskly to the dorms, her mind racing. This wasn't her usual approach—confrontation of this nature was foreign to her. Yet, she knew it had to be done. She found Sudou outside, leaning against the wall with his head down.

"Sudou," she called out, voice sharper than she intended. He didn't respond, his jaw clenched as he avoided her gaze. She took a breath, frustration boiling over. "You're ignorant," she snapped, "throwing a tantrum when the class needs you the most."

He finally looked up, his eyes burning with anger. "Why should I care? No one backs me up anyway."

Suzune's expression softened for a fleeting moment. "The class does need you. We need your strength to stand any chance. I can't pretend to understand what you go through, but… I know I'm not perfect either. I'm not as strong as I pretend to be," she admitted, her voice wavering with the confession. "But I'm asking you now, as someone who can't do this alone. Lend me your strength."

Sudou's eyes widened, the raw sincerity in her voice cutting through his anger. The silence between them was heavy, but slowly, the tension lifted as he nodded, the fire in his eyes returning.

Later, Suzune returned to you, her expression as stern as ever. "Your idea was stupid," she muttered. But there was a glimmer of something else in her eyes—an unspoken acknowledgment. She exhaled and said, "But it worked. Thank you."
