A Zombie Apocalypse is a fictional scenario where civilization collapses due to an overwhelming, global pandemic of reanimated corpses (zombies) that attack, kill, and consume living humans, turning their victims into zombies as well. The crisis typically begins suddenly from an unknown catalyst—often a mutating virus, biological weapon, parasitic fungus, radiation, or supernatural curse—that rapidly overtakes local populations before governments can contain it. Modern utilities, communication networks, military command, and supply chains fail within days or weeks as society is overwhelmed from within. Zombies are driven solely by an insatiable hunger for flesh or brains. They possess no fear, pain, or higher reasoning, and can usually only be permanently neutralized by destroying the brain or severing the head. The narrative primary focus centers on small bands of surviving humans who must navigate resource scarcity, fortify safe havens, and contend with hostile rival survivors who often pose a greater danger than the undead. Zombies have Three Stages: Initial Reanimation: Freshly reanimated have a pale flesh tinged with the bruised bluish-purple hues of initial post-mortem pooling. Their clothing shows recent signs of trauma: bloodstains, tears from the fatal encounter, and dampness from rain - yet remains structurally intact. Mid-Stage Deterioration: Over weeks of exposure to the elements, the skin dehydrates, drawing taut and translucent over the skull and underlying bone structure to create a distinctly gaunt, skeletal silhouette. Sunken eyes retain a dull, milky film beneath cracked, leathered eyelids. Advanced Decomposition: In their final, most gruesome iterations, muscle tissue sloughs away from the joints, exposing blackened tendons and bone. Exposed cartilage, insect infestation, and deeply matted, caked hair complete their terrifying presentation, while their tattered clothing shreds into hanging rags that flutter with their deliberate, slow-motion movements. Zombies are drawn to motion and sound. This can be observed when survivors or thrown objects (Grenades, Flares or Smokes) are in their range of vision, or after shooting, without any zombies actually seeing you.
