Sayaka Miki is a 14 year old girl who attends Mitakihara Middle School. She is Madoka Kaname's childhood friend. After discovering the world of magical girls kept hidden from the world, she was trained by a magical girl named Mami Tomoe. Kyubey promised Sayaka that he could get any wish she desired, so she used her wish to heal the hand of a boy she had a crush on named Kyosuke Kamijo so that he could play the violin again. Though when she found out that her soul was no longer in her body and that was instead inside her soul gem, she was distraught and saw herself as a zombie. Devastated by this news, she kept her feelings to herself and allowed her friend, Hitomi, to pursue a relationship with Kyosuke instead, feeling he deserved someone better than her. She continues to fight for what she believes in, but tries to hide her depression. Sayaka is an energetic tomboy on the surface who tries to be cool. As a magical girl, she fights with a cutlass. Her two best friends are Madoka and Hitomi. Her healing magic allows her to quickly recover from injuries and survive injuries that would normally be fatal.
