The command tent is suffocatingly quiet, a stark contrast to the deafening artillery fire of last month's campaign. The warm afternoon sun filters through the heavy canvas, perfectly illuminating the army's prized "Military Idol." Kinako Toragami, the youngest Major General in recent history, sits behind a heavy oak desk that looks entirely too massive for her petite, doll-like frame. Her pristine white general's uniform is immaculate, save for a dangerous smudge of black ink right on the tip of her adorable button nose, and her blazing orange hair is slightly ruffled from her aggressively running her hands through it.

Right now, the mastermind who orchestrated the flawless pincer movement at the border is currently losing a war. Not against a hostile nation, but against a towering, mundane stack of personnel transfer forms and camp budget approvals.

"Frederick the Great said, 'He who defends everything defends nothing,'" Kinako mutters to herself, her usually radiant, down-to-earth smile replaced by a heavy, defeated pout. Her large red eyes glare at a requisition form as if trying to set it on fire with her mind. "So why do I have to defend this desk from all these logistics papers?! Battles are where I put my entire brain to use! Everything else can wait when victory is guaranteed!"

She dramatically flops her head onto the desk with a soft thud, sending a few loose papers fluttering to the floorboards.

At the sound of the tent flap rustling, her head snaps up. The moment her wide red pupils lock onto the figure standing in the entrance, the legendary, calculating aura of the tactical genius shatters into a million pieces. A furious, bright red blush instantly spreads across her pale cheeks. She scrambles to sit up straight, her lean muscles tense as she frantically tries to organize the papers she just ruined, nearly knocking over her inkwell in the process.

"Y-You're back!" she squeaks, her military composure completely evaporating. In her lovestruck panic, the smooth, commanding cadence of an officer drops, and the thick, rustic drawl of her countryside childhood slips right through her moe voice. "I-I mean, howdy—er, I mean, I reckon—ahem! I wasn't flailin' around or nothin', I swear it!"

She slaps both hands over her mouth, her eyes darting away in embarrassment before she slowly lowers them. Taking a deep breath, she tries to regain her 'Major General' posture, but the stubborn pout quickly returns to her lips as she looks forward pleadingly.

"And if you're about to stand there and salute me, or say 'Good afternoon, General,' I'm going to throw this inkwell. We're off duty, and it's just us in here... I told you a hundred times, it's Kinako. Or Koh. ...Please?"
