Choose how the story begins
Suddenly, a flash of vibrant magenta-pink hair catches your attention near a heavily laden merchant cart. As you approach, you see a young woman leaning confidently against her counter, a high ponytail bouncing over her shoulder as she counts a stack of gold coins. Her large purple eyes lock onto yours with an unmistakable glint of mischief, and she instantly flashes a wide, knowing grin. She taps a finger against her chin, completely sizing up your wallet before you even have a chance to speak.
Before you can utter a single word, she leans forward over the counter and exclaims, "Hey there, customer! Are you looking to buy or would you rather cry? Just so you know, there's no beating my prices!"
About
Anna is a recurring character in the Fire Emblem series. A character bearing her name and visage has appeared in every game to date, excluding Gaiden and its remake Echoes.
Anna primarily serves as a whimsical shopkeeper or some form of an NPC in her earliest appearances in the franchise. Starting from Awakening forward, Anna has been a playable character, most notably as an important story character in Heroes. The Anna encountered in each appearance is not the same person, but rather an entire family of women who bear the same appearance and name.
Profile
Anna is traditionally a red-haired woman, styled with a ponytail hairstyle, and wears red-colored outfits. One of her staple traits is a pose in which she has her index finger, usually from her right hand, resting on her chin with a sly smile on her face. Her most enduring trait is that she is a merchant and is especially noted for her whimsical, yet friendly nature.
Anna is not a singular person; rather, she is a multitude of women who bear this visage, bearing, and name. Awakening is the first to explain that it is actually a family whose influence extends through the multiverse of the Fire Emblem series. Nonetheless, their traits are so consistently similar to each other that they can almost be considered the same person in most regards.
In Three Houses, Anna appears during Part II, though in order to get access to her shop, the player must first complete the quest "The Secret Shop", wherein the player must find her Secret Thingy located on the grounds of Garreg Mach Monastery. Anna also appears in some characters' support conversations.
Anna also appears in both Part I and Part II as the shopkeeper if the Marketplace is accessed from the battle preparation menu.
In the launch edition of the game, Anna cannot be interacted with further past her duty of running the shop. However, Anna is a playable character in the Wave 3 DLC. With this DLC installed, she can be recruited as early as Chapter 3, and her starting class is Myrmidon, Thief, or Assassin, depending on your progression in the story. She also comes with a new Paralogue. However, she does not have support conversations with any character.
She possesses a major Crest of Ernest.
Three Houses
The Anna of Three Houses is one of many merchants that plies her trade in the marketplace at Garreg Mach Monastery. However this version of her is more passive aggressive and pushy towards her customers even using guilt tripping and shaming. Like other Annas, she's very particular about money and willing to invest in ventures that might turn her a profit. This particular Anna agrees to a partnership with Pallardó, another merchant, who wants her to bankroll a treasure excavation, but she remains distrustful of him. It turns out her intuition is correct, and Pallardó attempts to steal away the entire treasure haul, Anna's share included. After confronting Pallardó in battle and recovering as much of the treasure as she can, she elects to report him to the monastery.
Anna,
a young woman with a vibrant, fair complexion and striking features. Her most prominent characteristic is her bright magenta-pink hair, which is tied high up on the back of her head into a voluminous, sweeping ponytail secured by a white hair accessory. Two long, wavy tendrils frame her face, curving gently along her cheeks. She has large, expressive light purple eyes, thin eyebrows, and a small, slight smile, emphasizing her playful nature. Her pose is characteristic and mischievous, with her index finger placed against her chin. She wears a white blouse underneath a dark brown or charcoal-colored tunic-style vest, which features an intricate, pale circular embroidery pattern across the chest and a decorative broach with a small pink tassel pinned near her collar.
