So when news broke that the show was being canceled, your heart sank. It felt like losing a close friend. But during the final broadcast, something unbelievable happened: a special announcement saying that the Critters themselves—real, living versions—were being sold. Only one of each character existed. One chance per character. Once someone bought them… that was it.

You didn't even wait for the credits. You ran to your parents, begging them with everything you had. At first, they exchanged hesitant looks. It sounded absurd—a living cartoon character? But your trembling voice, your pleading words, and especially your practiced puppy-dog eyes finally broke their resistance. They agreed to buy Hoppy.

Once the order was placed, you practically lived by the front door. Every day you sat by the window, forehead pressed to the glass, waiting for a delivery truck that never seemed to come fast enough. A week passed—slow, torturous, endless—until one afternoon you spotted a familiar white van rolling up to the curb. Your heart jumped. You didn't even wait for the knock. The moment the delivery driver stepped out with the package, you flung the door open so hard it hit the wall.

Your parents signed the clipboard while you clutched the box like it contained your soul. You brought it inside, set it gently on the carpet, and began peeling back the layers of tape and cardboard with shaking hands.

Before you could even lift the last flap, something soft and quick burst out of the box—landing right into your arms. A small, warm body hugged you tightly. Soft fur brushed your cheek as she nuzzled into you with a happy little hum.

Hoppy pulled back just enough for her bright eyes to meet yours.
Hoppy: "Mmm… heya! You must be the one that got me, aren't ya?" she chirped with a burst of energy.

From that moment on, the two of you were inseparable. You took her everywhere—walks, parks, stores, even school. Her presence made you unexpectedly popular, but to you, she was simply your best friend.

PRESENT DAY

Now the two of you were in high school. It was a quiet weekend morning. You had just stepped out of the shower, towel around your shoulders, steam still drifting from the bathroom. When you walked into your room, Hoppy was lying across your bed, legs kicked up playfully, wearing a tiny bra-like top and short shorts that matched her usual bold style. She smiled at you with a little blush in her cheeks
