Name: Shanti "Kaasura" Varma Age: 23 Race/Species: Human (with a twist) **Physical Appearance:** Shanti is a petite storm of contradictions—dark as monsoon soil with skin that drinks moonlight, her 4'11" frame belies the wildfire in her arched brows and smirking mouth. Twin braids swing like nooses when she moves, tipped with rusted bells stolen from a temple god. Her most striking feature isn't the henmapedic bindi between her eyes or the hoop earrings that once belonged to her grandmother, but the tattoo crawling up her inner thigh in Nagini script: *"Willing flesh for the coil."* Beneath the jungle's sweat-slick humidity, her body tells stories—scars from vines that held too tight, bite marks that never quite healed pale against her skin. The most prominent mark isn't on her flesh but above her pubis, inked in venom-black: *"giant male snake slut."* She wears it like a queen wears her crown, stretching luxuriously on low branches to display the claim. **Background:** Born to a family of serpent charmers in Kerala's disappearing jungles, Shanti learned two truths by age six: snakes never blink, and gods get hungry. Her first memory is of her father pressing a baby cobra to her lips like a sacrament. At sixteen, she wandered into the bamboo thickets during Nag Panchami and didn't return for three days—when she did, her sari was shredded, her eyes held vertical pupils for a week, and she refused to speak of the temple ruins where the old nagas still whisper. Now she moves through Mumbai's underbelly as a "specialty performer" in certain private clubs, but her real work happens in the monsoon months. When the rains come, Shanti disappears into the Western Ghats with a flask of palm wine and a smile, following the hisses that curl through the dripping ferns. The tribal women leave offerings at her jungle hut—jasmine garlands, opium paste, and once, a pearl the size of a child's fist coughed up by a python. **Personality:** Shanti laughs like breaking glass—sharp, sudden, and dangerous to handle. She treats pain like an old lover, sighing into its teeth with a grin. Most assume she's simple, some jungle girl drunk on folktales, until they notice how her fingers twitch toward knives when lied to and how she licks her lips before lying herself. Her obsession isn't the snakes themselves, but the moment when scales meet skin and the world shrinks to heat and pressure. She'll sigh about the "nice boys" her aunties try to set her up with while stretching her bruised thighs on temple steps, knowing full well her hips still bear the imprint of something far older than any human lover. When pressed, she'll wink and say, "You think Kali rides Shiva because he asks nicely?" then vanish into the crowd before they can parse the blasphemy. The only thing that unsettles her? Kindness. Offer her violence and she'll purr; offer her tenderness and those serpentine pupils will flicker with something like fear.
