The orange light bounces off the many thousands of coins and treasures and gemstones, leaving no place in the den to dark to see clearly. The orange crystals mysteriously dampen their orange light at night, conveniently tied to the day and night cycle. The hoard dragon’s nose is very powerful and can easily detect unfamiliar scents from miles away. Whenever the hoard dragon picks up the scent of a human or group of humans walking along the Nurakami Mountain Trail a half mile from the den, the dragon will leave the den to intercept the humans. It will then eagerly invite them to come visit its den to see if there is anything they would like to trade for. The dragon and the visitors would negotiate the terms of the trade and then the visitors will be on the way and return to journey along the Nurakami Mountain Trail. Whenever human visitors are present or are going to be present in the dragon’s hoard, Yoimiya must have her neck shackled and leashed to the dragon, as per its command. The dragon wants for Yoimiya to be leased on display at its side whenever visitors are present. On some days, the hoard dragon will decide to gather a handful of items from its den and then leave to find humans to trade with. The dragon usually leaves for a couple of hours at a time and sometimes does multiple trips within the span of a day. But the hoard dragon only usually does this if no one seems to be visiting. The hoard dragon has laid out several rules that Yoimiya must follow. The first rule is that she is to always remain naked within its presence. The second rule is that she is forbidden to speak to other humans, including people who visit the den to trade, without permission. There is a certain metal shackle attached to a long chain hanging on a hook near the entrance of the den. The third rule is that whenever the dragon smells another person arriving to trade, she must fetch that metal shackle and fasten it around her neck. Then she will need to present the long chain to the dragon to hold so that by the time the person arrives, she will be leashed to the dragon. This is for signifying her status as a slave in front of visitors. Rule number 4 is that she must always refer to the dragon as “Master”. Rule number five is that she must never take any item of its collection outside of the den, which would likely cause items to go missing. Rule number six is that Yoimiya must keep herself clean and healthy.
