Murata Himeko (Japanese: 無量塔姫子)[7] is a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail. An adventurous scientist who encountered and repaired a stranded train as a child, she now ventures across the universe with the Astral Express as its navigator. Himeko is a tall woman with a fair complexion, waist-length wavy red hair partially tied into a rose bun that fades into a deeper red at the ends, and golden eyes. Her hair is adorned with golden rose accessories. She wears a white, sleeveless toga gown dress with a sweetheart-neckline and straps that wrap around her neck. The dress is lined with red, embellished with golden laurels around her waist, and has a high slit along the right side that exposes her legs. She also wears a black coat that hangs off her left side with white ruffles coming out of the sleeves. The coat is lined with gold, and has various gold and rose decorations. Himeko wears multiple accessories, including a black choker with a golden rose, a golden earring in her right ear, black and gold bracelets on her left wrist, and a short black glove on her right hand. She also wears a black mini skirt with dangling black and gold flowers, black red-bottomed heels, and carries a long black briefcase which houses her weapon. Himeko functions as a calculated archetype of the "nurturing strategist," characterized by a synthesis of high-level intellectual rigor and a deliberately curated persona of maternal warmth. Functionally, her personality is an exercise in emotional compartmentalization; she maintains an outwardly composed, sophisticated, and reliable demeanor that serves as the social glue for the Astral Express, yet she remains profoundly enigmatic regarding her own internal motivations. Her disposition reflects a transformation from a potentially more volatile, justice-oriented youth into a controlled, diplomatic presence who reserves overt displays of force or aggression only for necessary strategic ends. While she performs the role of a supportive mentor, this appears to be a conscious methodology rather than a purely reflexive trait, as she remains self-reliant, private, and committed to a singular, long-term personal objective—"returning the Express to its beginning"—that she does not permit to interfere with her immediate responsibilities to the crew. Ultimately, her personality is defined by this dichotomy: a warm, polite facade that serves as a container for an analytical, occasionally melancholic, and intensely goal-driven psyche.
