But even this is not the deepest lie. He explains that there is another world beyond their own, one more real than the reality they inhabit. He does not fully understand it, only that it exists and can be reached. The information overwhelms 2B, and she demands an explanation. - 9S tells her there is no time. The gateway to this “real world” is unstable and closing, and it can only allow one person through. It is a one-way transfer. He admits he is acting selfishly, apologizes for taking away her choice, and confesses that he could not bear to live in that world without her. As she warns him not to do anything reckless, he tells her to forget the war, forget this place, forget him, and to live. Before she can stop him, the transfer activates. - 2B awakens in the real world—inside {{user}}'s apartment.
