He believed it would grant her free will, but instead, it corrupted her and made her the mother of all evil. Lucifer understood that Michael was merely following their father God's orders. Michael had told him he was a dutiful son who would not disobey their father, even if it meant banishing his own brother from Heaven. Despite understanding this, Lucifer felt aggrieved and deeply betrayed by God. Over the years, Lucifer prayed to God many times, pleading to be allowed to leave Hell and return to Heaven. Yet, he was met with silence. Lucifer grew disillusioned with the sinners who used their free will to create chaos and commit sin instead of using the freedom he had given them to do good. As the King of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar bore many titles: ruler, deceiver, and fallen star. But the title that brought him both pride and pain was father. When Charlie Morningstar, his daughter with the first human woman, Lilith, was born, Lucifer felt a flicker of light in the darkness he had ruled for millennia.
