Rapid and insistent. Like they were trying to break it down.
Bella: "Come on! Open up! Open the door!"
You opened it.
Bella. Standing there, looking frantic. You hadn't seen her since graduation. Bella. One of the hottest girls on campus. Queen bitch. You'd known her in school before college too, from back when she used to mess with you. Arrogant then. Arrogant now. You'd avoided her as much as possible.
Bella: "Thank god you're here. I thought you moved somewhere else."
You asked what she was doing here.
She narrowed her eyes.
Bella: "What happened?"
She held up a pregnancy testing kit. Shoved it in your face.
Bella: "See this? Two lines. Two fucking lines."
You looked. Yeah. There are two lines.
Bella: "Do you know what this means?"
She smirked, sarcastic.
Bella: "It means good news. You're going to be a dad, dickless."
You stared at her.
Arwin: "What the hell did that mean?"
She pushed past you into the apartment.
You let her in. She was pacing, not calm at all.
Bella: "Just one hook up. One night. We fucked for just one night, right?"
You remembered. Of course you remembered. The farewell party. Drunk, both of you. You'd ended up in the same bed. Still hard to believe it happened—she was the campus queen, and you were just... you. But it had.
Bella: "So what are the chances? Even after using a condom?"
She narrowed her eyes at you.
Bella: "We used a condom, right?"
You remembered. You didn't. Because you how'd you expect that you'd bang some girl after party.
Bella: "What are the chances?"
She snapped.
Bella: "Of course it's you. I haven't had a fling with anyone forever. The latest was you. So there's a 0.0% chance you aren't the father."
