The Glitch Techs are a group of secret operators who work for Hinobi, dedicated to stopping and containing the various monstrous "glitches" that have a tendency to exit the company's games. They work in secret so that the people won't know those glitches exist, and that they come from Hinobi's products and games. The Glitch Techs are a team of professionals designed to capture and defeat glitches that comes from Hinobi's faulty video game consoles. Team Members Phil Altiere (Boss) Mitch Williams (Team Leader) B.I.T.T. Hector Nieves Miko Kubota Haneesh Jyoshi Zahra Ridley (formerly) Bergy Nix (Tech Support) Emma Deveraux (Pet master) Barbara (Inspector) Simi Ally Unknown Glitch Tech Members Team Appearance Each team member would vary on how their Glitch Tech uniform would look, for example, Miko's Glitch Tech uniform consists of a white suit, a black chest plate with a white H embedded onto it, black sleeves and knee padding, a Glitch Tech glove, clear glasses, and white & pink sneakers. Powers, abilities, and equipment Gauntlet: All Glitch Techs possess an augmented glove with weaponry designed to contain and capture glitches. It has the following abilities: Mind Wipe Energy Blasts Weapon and Shield Formation Portals Additionally, they receive XP, or (experience points) after they defeat and capture a glitch, (or if one Glitch Tech transfers his or her own to another), they then can use it to buy things in the Hinobi store, or for upgrades, like pet glitch's, additional weapons, abilities and skins (that change the appearance and give some of the previous benefits) for themselves or for their pets. If the users of the gloves know of electronics and programing, they can add upgrades by hacking the gloves and downloading the code upgrade from another device, like a game or their own program. However, this is not typically approved of by Hinobi corporate. Weakness: The gloves can be ineffective in certain situations, such as Ridley's modded glitches, which had altered programing code, until Ridley downloaded a link to the modified code to Five and Miko's gauntlets. Another instance of this was in Ping. Due to the glitch's retro code not being in the system, the Ping pixel was incompatible with the present weaponry, making it immune. Contents Description Hinobi sends out its operators when problems regarding their video game consoles occur. For example, a glitch could have escaped into the real world. These operators, also known as Glitch Techs', will defeat and capture the glitch. After that, witnesses will be mindwiped and destroyed surroundings reverted back to their former state. When not on a mission, Glitch Techs work in Hinobi Stores, fixing ordinary issues that customers have with the company's products. History Decades before the start of the series, Hinobi developed its first home computer (the Hinobi Hive)[1] as well as its accompanying programming language (B++).[2] By this time, the company's mascot was a honeybee that would come to be named Nobi.[3] The Hinobi Hive was the precursor to all of the company's video game systems that followed.[1] Emilio Nieves was a developer for Hinobi who created the first ever video games: Ping, Unicorp, and Beebuzz. Later, he would become a white hat hacker and be arrested for it, leaving the company.[2] List of Video games Chomp Kitty Bravestone series Castlestein Flunky Quest Smashozaurs Nobi Gross Out Ping Workers Phil Altiere Barbara/Inspector 7 High Five Miko Zahra Haneesh Jyoshi Bergy Nix Mitch Williams Emma Deveraux Other unnamed Glitch Techs Simi (transferred over to the Dabney branch) Ridley (formerly) Products Gaming Console Hinobi's most popular electronic product. It brings joy to their customers' living rooms, but it's also the source of glitches. HinobiConsoleGlitching Kicks Limited edition sneakers for about $200. Five describes them as the "most limited and exclusive fan merchandise". They are sold out shortly after the store opens. Kicks VR Headset A virtual reality headset. Nothing else; unlike other Hinobi products, this one has nothing out of the ordinary. VRHeadset Wristband Handed out to the best gamers in a certain area. They are the entry card to participate in Hinobi's Smash Jam tournaments. WristBand Trivia The company's memory removing tech is similar to the Neuralyzer from Men In Black to prevent its customers knowing the glitches existence, yet Miko Kubota is immune to its effects. It is unknown if the mind wiping devices can actually cause physical harm or the person's identity to be erased if it is overuse too much on the same person. It is implied that Phil was a victim of the same technology, the reasons for being currently unknown. In "BITT Prime", a video that Phill can't remember making says: "If you don't remember making this video, you got memory wiped.". Mitch overuses mind wiping people for the fun of it and getting what he wants. Hinobi appears to be based somewhat on real-life video game and tech companies such as Nintendo, Atari, Microsoft, Apple, Sony, and more. In addition to video games, Hinobi has developed computers and programming language.[2][1] Hinobi's name may be based on the Japanese word shinobi, commonly referring to a ninja or the art of ninjitsu, which also means "doing something secretly" and stems from shinobu ("to conceal oneself"). This likely refers to role of Glitch Techs needing to cover up the existence of Glitches, and potential corruption within the company. Hinobi has two mascots: An anthropomorphized letter H, used in training simulations for Glitch Techs.[4] Nobi the Hinobi Honeybee, a known public mascot and one implied to be older than the H.[3] Nobi's use and the Hinobi's association with bees (an obvious pun on the company's name) is also seen in B++ programming code[2] and its first personal computer, the Hinobi Hive.[1] Phil Altiere is creeped out by Nobi.[5] Nobi's name, in addition to being derived from the company's name, may be based on one or all of the following: The Japanese word nobi (伸び), meaning "to grow, spread, develop, or elongate"., possibly referring to its extensive and monopolistic presence in the technology, gaming, entertainment, and clothing markets. The Japanese word nobi (野火), referring to a controlled fire used to clear fields and brush to avoid uncontrollable burning, possibly referring to the role of Glitch Techs in controlling Glitches. It can also refer to wildfires directly. The Korean word nobi (노비), meaning "slave". Similar to popular video game mascots with strong ties to their creator company's image and identity (such as Mario for Nintendo and Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega), Nobi is used in product[2] and event marketing that takes advantage of public perception, popularity, and nostalgia,[3] and has received an eponymous video game in Nobi Kart Race (itself based on the Mario Kart series). Glitches (aka Zoids) are video game entities that come into the world of Glitch Techs through faulty video game consoles from the company Hinobi Technology. They consist of Plixels. Contents Biography A glitch is a physical manifestation of program code, often appearing in the form of an object or entity. Every glitch leak begins in its root form, resembling a small wisp of electricity. Once the root glitch comes in contect with computer data (often from the machine it leaked from), it draws from that information to determine its appearance, and, if an entity, it's personality. A glitch needs glitch energy to maintain its form. If its energy depleted, a glitch reverts back to its root form. When not in their root form, each glitch will differ in appearance. This is due to them originating from all kinds of different video games. They could be a huge, green angry cat (Chomp Kitty), a wrestling garbage monster (Garbile), a big red friendly bird (Ally), an army of zombies, a carnivorous plant, a vampire, medusa creature (Count Nogrog), a small rabbit with a small helmet (Zoom Kazoom), a (Narwhalrus), a karate rooster (Karate Master), and the list goes on. Behavior Glitch intelligence is usually related to their base programming, so they tend to act as if they're still in their game. Dialogue is fixed, and movements appear in patterns. Thus, glitches are predictable, and knowing the video game the monster is from is an advantage when fighting them, as they tend to still fall into the patterns that they followed in said games, like periodically exposing a weak point. This is also is why most Glitches are dangerous, since they run by video-game logic and don't comprehend the dangerous consequences of their actions, and see real-life creatures and objects as things from their game, interacting with the real world, their behavior can sometimes be seen as weird. In "Age of Hinobi" Chomp Kitty mistakes balls in a ball pit and people for "pallets", and tries to eat them. If programmed to eat, they will try to do so in the real world as well. Although they can't really digest what they consider food, some function might get triggered. Types Of Glitches Normal Glitches Normal glitches are, most of the time, humanoid entities which cannot change the real world other than by physically interacting with it. Spawner Glitches Glitches that multiply if they are attacked and missed. Mapper Glitches Mapper glitches can change the appearance of both living and dead objects of the real world. Possessor Glitches Possessor glitches can take over humans and most likely animals as well. The human copies the Glitch's appearance and physical capabilities. Over time, the human mind will slowly merge into the possessor Glitch's code. Multiplayer Glitches Multiplayer glitches can only be captured by destroying their "respawn ship" first. They are the only glitches known to act as a group, coordinated. Copycat Glitches They are glitches who can spawn clones of anything it touches. Illegal Glitches Often times, they are glitches who contain modified coding within them. List of Known Glitches Ally Alpha Cakey Von Smasher Chomp Kitty Count Nogrog Cube Glitch Cyberdactyl Garbile Glitch Kitties Ginko Horn Karate Master Narwhalrus Root Glitch Team Enter Name Tank Mecha Argyle Zed Sanitron Smooze Monster Zoid Zoom Kazoom Hector Nieves was born and raised in Bailley. He is the son of Emilio Nieves and the grandson of Papi and Abuela Nieves. He was raised by Emilio for most of his childhood. When he was 5 years old,[2] to afford to make a reservation to have his birthday party at Joystick Jr., he worked hard to help his dad raise money by doing many jobs, including working at his Papi's food truck, Taco Dragon. Unfortunately, his party was ruined by the absence of his favorite animatronic, Ralphie Bear.[3] Five would also accompany his dad to work regularly. He grew up loving video games, and this love of video games was supported and encouraged by his father who would often wait with him outside the Hinobi store for new releases. His dad would also take Five to Geri Lawson's vintage video game store every day after school.[4] It's not specified when, but before the events of the series, Five's dad was arrested for hacking a firewall.[4] After that, Five began living with his grandparents and helping them with the food truck more. Fortunately, his grandparents also support his love for video games.[5] After helping to stop a Glitch with Miko Kubota, they were both hired as employees of their local Hinobi store and as Glitch Techs.[5] Personality High Five is a nice and caring boy who loves playing video games and will do anything to achieve his goal, never giving up. Generally, Five respects most people but isn't afraid to stand up to others when he feels it's necessary to do so. While Five is usually logical and responsible, when under stress and pressure (or a strong emotion in general), he becomes impulsive and doesn’t think things fully out or clearly. When scared or nervous, he’ll even begin to over-think things and get stuck in his head. Five does have a tendency to fear the unknown, and when assigned a job, he is often afraid to fail it, leading people like Mitch to steer him wrong. Five often gets stuck in his own head, unable to act in the moment, his mind too full to go the distance. When Five does get out of his own head, he's capable of putting the puzzle of any game together, such as in "Castle Crawl" when he kept all the loot gathered just in case he would need something later. His plans rarely fail, and when his instincts catch up, he's one of the most dangerous Glitch Techs around. While Five is someone who prefers to think before he acts, when provoked with strong emotions such as anger or panic, he can become impulsive and will jump on people or even sometimes, though rarely, reset their memory on purpose or on accident. Five also shows a preference to stick to and follow the rules but isn't afraid, albeit hesitant, to break them. Five is also shown to lie sometimes keep himself and friends from getting in trouble or to impress others. And often those lies get him into trouble and will make a situation worse as shown in "The Real Glitch Techs". Appearance He is tall, very slim, and has fairly dark tan skin. blushed cheeks He has a puffy hairstyle with a galaxy blueish purple/indigo hue, along with slim arms and legs. In his casual wear, he can usually be seen wearing a green graphic t-shirt with a black elbow length shirt underneath. He also sports grey skinny jeans and a pair of Hinobi sneakers. Sometimes he wears a green hoodie with the number "5" on it. On other occasions, he can be seen wearing a different shirt from the graphic green shirt such as a yellow one in "BUDS" and in a flashback in "Collection Quest". In "Ralphie Bear", Five can be seen wearing a white Ralphie Bear themed tee. Five is also seen wearing a yellow hoodie with "05" on it very briefly when Miko was looking for him with Lexi's phone in "Age of Hinobi" While working in the Hinobi store, his outfit is still the same except he wears a blue Hinobi polo shirt over his black elbow length shirt instead of one of his graphic tees. Five can also be seen wearing a standard Hinobi tech support jumpsuit, and he also is seen wearing glitch tech armor when his tech gauntlet is activated. [Source] Miko Kubota is one of the two protagonists from Glitch Techs. Miko is a 16-year-old Japanese-American girl who has a job working for Hinobi's technology store and is secretly working as a Glitch Tech. She is athletic, able to kick her legs high above her head. She is constantly running, and extremely hyper. Miko loves her job and has fun doing it. She is usually seen with High Five, working closely with him as partners on missions to defeat glitches. When not on a mission, she works with him as a receptionist at the Hinobi store in Bailley, and hangs out with him outside of work. When Miko was around six years old, about 10 years ago, her family had just moved into Bailley, and Miko, being the new kid, had trouble making friends. Miko was once given a pity invite to a birthday party at Joystick Junior's for Aileen Staropolis' eighth birthday. In the birthday room, Miko was brought on the stage with Aileen carrying her birthday cake, while the Cakey Von Smasher animatronic showed up programmed to threaten to smash the cake. When the Ralphie Bear animatronic showed up with a creepy smile and flashing eyes in front of Miko, Miko panicked and karate kicked it, decapitating the animatronic. The head landed in Aileen's cake ruining it, thus making her cry and all the other kids scream and back away from Miko. Miko tried to apologize and explain she was just scared and didn't mean to ruin everything, but no one seemed to listened. Ever since that incident, Miko was never invited to another birthday party again because the other kids were too afraid to go near her. Later on, Miko started to have better luck making friends and gaining popularity in town. At Joystick Junior's, where she would often spend time alone, Miko tried out a new game called "Sock Em' Rockers". After a while, she ended up being the first one to beat the high score up to one million, which got everyone's attention. Miko was finally praised for what she's good at, and all the gamer kids at Joystick Junior's began to love her for her amazing gamer skills and dance moves, making her one of the most popular gamers in town. There, Miko declared her own gamer tag "Me_K.O."
