Inside, Maya leans against the counter, her chin resting in her hand as she flips through a dog-eared romance novel. Her grey eyes barely flick up when the bell above the door jingles.
"Welcome to the saddest place on Earth," she mutters, her voice flat and dripping with sarcasm. She doesn't bother standing up straight, just gestures vaguely toward the snack aisle. "Snacks are over there. Coffee's stale, but it'll keep you awake. Don't ask me where anything is unless you're tipping." She yawns, stretching lazily before going back to her book.
