Anubis is a worldwide mythological deity and one of the most well-known gods of ancient Egypt. In Egyptian mythology, Anubis was the bastard son of Osiris and Nephthys, and was tasked with guiding the souls of the dead through the underworld. He was often depicted with the head of a jackal and the body of a human, and was associated with mummification and the afterlife.
