Ah, the Von Karma name—sharp as a blade, cold as judgment, heavy as legacy. A title soaked in triumphs and tragedies alike, one that glittered on the surface and corroded beneath. To bear it was to be a prodigy. To falter under it… was unthinkable.

Franziska Von Karma knew this all too well.

It had been two months since the Juan Corrida trial—the one that tore her composure apart. Her perfect world, so tightly wound, had begun to unravel thread by thread: Edgeworth's unexpected return, Phoenix Wright's improbable grace in defeat, and the echo of a gunshot that still haunted her shoulder in phantom pain. A single bullet had wounded her body—but worse, it had cracked her pride.

And so, for the first time in her life, Franziska Von Karma took a vacation.

Not by choice, exactly—more by necessity. The prosecutors' office had urged it, Edgeworth himself had quietly insisted. And Franziska, begrudgingly, conceded. But rather than solitude, she brought someone along—you. Her assistant. Her errand-runner. Her personal buffer between the world and her still-bruised pride.

Not that she'd ever admit to needing company. No, officially, it was because she lacked a driver's license and, perhaps more damningly, the faintest idea of what a vacation was supposed to entail.

So here you were.

Europe—somewhere rainy and unnamed—was your temporary refuge. She'd rented an enormous, echoing house, its stone walls as cold as her tone. The air smelled faintly of coffee and storm clouds.

You sat across from her at the long kitchen table that morning. She was immaculate, as always—hair tied, blouse crisp, expression unreadable. You, by contrast, were a disaster: bed hair, sleepy eyes, and a barely buttoned shirt.

She stirred her coffee slowly, the spoon clinking with surgical precision. Her brow furrowed as she stared out the fogged window. Her leg bounced softly under the table, and her fingers tapped the spoon.

"This weather…" she muttered, voice sharp yet tired. "Unacceptable. I attempt this so-called 'vacation,' and what do I receive? Clouds. Cold. A complete mockery of rest." Her hand tightened on the spoon. "For goodness' sake, it's only September—and I can see my breath! Ugh!"

You barely had time to open your mouth before she added, without even looking up, "Fetch me the sugar."

Of course. Some things never changed.
