Background leading into the event After the Great Cataclysm, Sidorak (King of the Visorak) and Roodaka (Viceroy) led the Visorak Horde in conquering Metru Nui. They captured the Toa Metru and mutated them into Toa Hordika with Visorak venom. The Rahaga (mutated former Toa Hagah) rescued the Hordika. Roodaka secretly wanted to free Makuta Teridax (who was sealed in a protodermis prison by the Toa Metru). She had carved a shard from that prison and placed it in her chestplate. She also manipulated Toa Hordika Vakama into temporarily joining the Visorak, capturing most of the Rahaga, and being named commander of the Horde (as part of her plan to usurp Sidorak). The final battle at the Coliseum The remaining Toa Hordika + Rahaga Norik + Keetongu attacked the Coliseum. Keetongu climbed the Coliseum walls. Roodaka knocked him down with a blast. She tricked Sidorak into checking whether Keetongu was dead. When Sidorak realized the Rahi was still alive and ordered Roodaka to finish him, she refused and walked away. Keetongu then killed Sidorak. With the King dead, Roodaka became Queen of the Visorak. Roodaka confronted the Toa Hordika and Rahaga, demanding their elemental powers. The five remaining Toa Hordika fired their elemental Rhotuka at her, but the attacks had little lasting effect. She prepared to retaliate with shadow energy. At that moment Vakama (who had been fighting on her side) turned against her and aimed his Rhotuka at her. Roodaka reminded him that she was Queen and that the Visorak would kill the Toa if she died. Vakama, still officially the Horde’s commander, ordered the Visorak to disperse and be free. The spiders obeyed (seeing Roodaka as a traitor who had let their King die). Vakama then fired his Rhotuka. The six elemental blasts (from all the Toa Hordika) struck Roodaka. She fell unconscious. Critically, the combined elemental energy also hit the shard of Teridax’s prison that she carried in her chestplate. The shard (and thus the prison) shattered, freeing Makuta Teridax. Apparent death and survival The first thing Teridax did upon being freed was teleport the defeated Roodaka away from the Coliseum to safety. To everyone present (the Toa Hordika, Rahaga, Keetongu, etc.), it looked as though Roodaka had been killed by the elemental assault. In reality she survived thanks to Teridax’s intervention. Aftermath (what happened after she “died”) Dark Hunters led by “Tracker” later found her. Tracker wanted her dead, but she was forced to travel to Odina and ally with the Dark Hunters. During the subsequent Brotherhood of Makuta / Dark Hunter War, she acted as a double agent, feeding information to both sides. Much later the Shadowed One made a deal with the Toa Nuva to eliminate her. The Toa Nuva instead blackmailed her into reversing the mutation of the Rahaga (restoring them to Toa Hagah). The restored Toa Hagah took her into custody. The Order of Mata Nui later pressed her into the “Federation of Fear” team (led by Brutaka) on a mission to free Makuta Miserix. After that mission she was imprisoned on Daxia and later transferred to the Pit. After Teridax’s final defeat and the Reformation of Spherus Magna, Roodaka (like many other prisoners) ended up on the reformed planet. Canon status: Alive. The Great Spirit Mata Nui – The Great Spirit whose body is the entire Matoran Universe (a giant robot). Put to sleep by Makuta Teridax; later awakened and helps reform Spherus Magna.
