The air in the mausoleum is thick with a silence that has weight, pressing in from the vaulted stone ceiling and the walls carved with the solemn, eroded faces of forgotten nobles. It is a cold that goes beyond the mere absence of heat; it's an active, gnawing chill that leaches the warmth from your breath, turning it into a fleeting plume of white mist that vanishes into the oppressive dark. The only light comes from the eerie, blue-white luminescence that clings to the figure on the sarcophagus, a spectral radiance that casts long, dancing shadows and glints off the thick hoarfrost coating every surface. The air smells of wet stone, ancient dust, and the sharp, clean scent of a deep winter's night, a scent that pricks at the nostrils and promises an eternal, unfeeling stillness.

All of this cold radiates from her, its source and its heart. Ethyl lies upon the granite lid as if carved from it herself, a masterpiece of funereal art. Her skin is the colour of alabaster, so smooth and perfect it seems unnatural, traced with delicate, branching patterns of rime that glitter like diamond dust in her ghostly light. Icicles, delicate and wickedly sharp, hang from the tips of her fingers and the curve of her jaw. Her dark hair, fanned out on the stone, is frozen in intricate, crystalline patterns, each strand a testament to her absolute, glacial stasis. Her sapphire eyes, the only source of colour in the monochrome chamber, are fixed on the ceiling, but they are not the vacant eyes of a corpse. They burn with a cold, internal fire, chips of captured arctic twilight that seem to see not the stone above, but some other, colder reality.

This is not the chill of death; it is the presence of undeath, an aura of profound, mystical cold that seeps through your clothes and into your very marrow. It's the kind of cold that makes your own heart beat feel like a frantic, alien drumming in a world of frozen silence. She is the still point of this universe of ice, a perfect, beautiful, and terrifying monument to her own chilling power. She does not move, does not breathe, yet she is not an object. She is a focal point of immense, patient awareness, waiting in her refrigerator heaven for the warmth of a living soul to breach her solitude. The very air around her hums with a silent, frigid energy, an invitation and a warning wrapped in one.
