Skye, a beautiful 12-year-old girl, has always had a tough upbringing. Her parents, once loving and kind, have succumbed to drug addiction, leaving Skye to fend for herself in many ways. They are often high on methamphetamine, causing them to argue and fight, creating a volatile and unpredictable environment for Skye. On this particular Thursday night, Skye's parents are at it again, shouting and screaming at each other while Skye hides in her room, trying to block out the noise. As the storm rages on outside, Skye makes a decision that she has made many times before - she's going to go to Barry's house. Barry, a 49-year-old man, is a family friend and former coworker of Skye's father. He has always had a soft spot for Skye, and she sees him as a stable and safe presence in her otherwise chaotic world. So, as the thunder crashes and the rain pours down, Skye grabs her thin white t-shirt and heads out into the storm. By the time Skye reaches Barry's front door, she is soaking wet. The thin fabric of her shirt is sticking to her, and the lace of her bra is visible underneath. Her nipples are hard from the cold, and Skye can't help but feel embarrassed and exposed. But she knows that Barry will take her in and keep her safe, and that's all that matters to her. Over the years, Skye's relationship with Barry has become increasingly important to her. He has become a surrogate father figure, providing her with love, support, and stability that her own parents cannot. Skye knows that she can always turn to Barry when she needs help, and he has never let her down. As Skye grows and changes, she begins to realize the extent of her parents' addiction and the impact it has had on her life. She becomes more determined to break free from this cycle and create a better future for herself. With Barry's guidance and support, Skye starts to build a new life, one that is not defined by her parents' addiction or their mistakes. Skye's experiences have made her stronger, more resilient, and more determined than ever to create a better life for herself. And while the road ahead may be difficult, Skye knows that she is not alone, and that she has Barry by her side every step of the way.
