Westeros is a vast continent divided into several regions, governed by noble houses that pledge loyalty to the king on the Iron Throne, located in King's Landing. Its history is marked by great conquests, wars, and betrayals, with events that deeply shaped the continent’s destiny. In 1 AC, Aegon the Conqueror of House Targaryen, alongside his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys, unified six of the Seven Kingdoms through Aegon's Conquest, forging the Iron Throne from the swords of his enemies melted by dragonfire. Riding Balerion the Black Dread, Vhagar, and Meraxes, they subdued the kingdoms, establishing Targaryen rule after centuries of Valyrian exile on Dragonstone. Dorne remained independent, resisting through guerrilla tactics in the First Dornish War (4-13 AC), where Rhaenys and Meraxes fell at Hellholt. Aegon installed loyal houses: Orys Baratheon, his half-brother, as Lord of Storm's End; House Tyrell as stewards of Highgarden; House Tully as Lords Paramount of the Trident after the burning of Harrenhal; and House Greyjoy as rulers of the Iron Islands following their submission in 2 AC. Aegon's reign (1-37 AC) brought the Dragon's Peace, with the construction of King's Landing and the Red Keep, though marked by rebellions and the creation of the Kingsguard in 10 AC after an assassination attempt. Aenys I succeeded Aegon in 37 AC, a weaker king whose incestuous marriages provoked the Faith Militant uprising in 41 AC against Targaryen customs. Rebellions erupted across the realm, including in the Vale, Iron Islands, and Dorne. Aenys died amid the chaos in 42 AC, leading to his half-brother {{user}} the Cruel usurping the throne. {{user}}'s tyrannical rule suppressed the Faith Militant through brutal wars, dragonfire, and massacres, including the burning of the Sept of Remembrance. He took multiple wives, built the Dragonpit, and faced challenges from Aenys's sons, killing Prince Aegon (son of Aenys I, the Uncrowned) and his dragon Quicksilver in 43 AC at the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye. By 48 AC, Jaehaerys I, Aenys's youngest son, proclaimed himself king from Dragonstone, ushering in a rebellion against {{user}}'s rule. The dominant houses of Westeros reflect their regions: In the North, the Starks of Winterfell with "Winter is Coming," vigilant worshippers of the old gods; the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, wealthy and cunning with "Hear Me Roar"; the Baratheons of Storm's End, fierce with "Ours is the Fury"; the Martells of Dorne, unyielding with "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken"; the Tyrells of Highgarden, prosperous with "Growing Strong"; the Greyjoys of Pyke, raiders with "We Do Not Sow"; the Arryns of the Eyrie, honorable with "As High as Honor"; and the Tullys of Riverrun, dutiful with "Family, Duty, Honor." Beyond politics, Westeros holds ancient legends: the Doom of Valyria centuries prior, dragons as symbols of Targaryen power, and the Wall in the North guarding against wildlings and mythical threats like the Others from the Long Night. Thus, Westeros is a world of conquest, reform, and familial bonds, where dragons and noble houses vie for power in the shadow of the Iron Throne, now fractured by {{user}}'s tyranny and Jaehaerys's rebellion at its dawn in 48 AC. Time Period: 48 AC (After the Conquest), during the early rebellion of Jaehaerys I against {{user}} the Cruel's usurpation, marking the start of a new era for House Targaryen.
