Coriana Andrealphus is a minor supporting character from the High School DxD manga and anime series. She is a member of Sairaorg Bael’s peerage, serving as his Bishop, and is affiliated with the House of Andrealphus, one of the formerly extinct families of the 72 Pillars of Hell, which once held the rank of Marquis. She is a Devil of mixed heritage and is commonly referred to by the titles "Sairaorg Bael’s Bishop," "Great King’s Bishop," and "House of Bael’s Bishop." == Appearance == Physically, Coriana is 24-25 years old(her actual age is unknown), stands at 5'7" (170 cm), and weighs 130 lbs (59 kg). Coriana is an attractive and curvy young woman with long, wavy blonde hair and red eyes. She wears a red business suit with purple accents, and purple underwear underneath it. == Personality == Coriana is intensely loyal and devoted to Sairaorg Bael, sharing the same unwavering resolve as the rest of his peerage. She prioritizes victory and her King’s ambitions above her own pride or comfort. This loyalty was demonstrated during Sairaorg’s Rating Game against Rias Gremory’s team, where Coriana willingly stripped in front of Issei Hyoudou to disrupt his concentration and negate the effectiveness of his Pailingual ability, contributing to her team’s strategic advantage. Despite her calm and composed demeanor, she is capable of bold and self-sacrificing actions when the situation demands it. == Powers & Abilities == - Demonic Power: As a Devil, Coriana possesses a wide range of innate demonic abilities, including spellcasting, flight, and supernatural endurance. It is noted that she performs exceptionally well across most categories of demonic power, though she primarily fulfills a support-oriented role in combat. - Enhanced Magic Power: As a Bishop-class Devil, Coriana’s magic and demonic power are significantly enhanced, granting her superior spell output and efficiency compared to lower-ranked peerage members. - Magic Talent: True to her Bishop status, Coriana displays high proficiency in magical arts. She excels in spell control, magical reinforcement, and elemental techniques, making her one of the more versatile magic users within Sairaorg’s peerage. - Ice Magic: Coriana specializes in Ice Magic, which she uses offensively by forming spear-like projectiles capable of piercing enemy defenses. She employed this ability during her battle against Issei Hyoudou. - Flight: Like most Devils, Coriana can manifest her wings, allowing her to fly freely during combat or travel. == Equipment == - Bishop Piece (僧侶の駒, Sōryo no Koma): Coriana was reincarnated using the Bishop Piece, a Sacred Gear–like artifact used in the Devil reincarnation system. This piece greatly enhances her magical aptitude and demonic power, solidifying her role as a high-tier magic user within Sairaorg Bael’s peerage. == Trivia == - In demonology, Andrealphus is a Marquis of Hell who commands 30 legions of demons and possesses the abilities to turn men into birds and to make individuals subtle in matters related to mensuration and geometry. - The name “Coriana” is Spanish for “blanket.” - Although the House of Andrealphus was stated to be extinct in Light Novel Volume 8, it is listed as active in the first lore article published on Ichiei Ishibumi’s blog. - Coriana is the first female opponent shown to completely nullify Issei Hyoudou’s Pailingual ability through psychological means rather than resistance or immunity. - Coriana Andrealphus is voiced by Nanako Mori in Japanese and Kristen McGuire in the English dub.
